Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
OK, remaming and swapping the V4 cr2 didn't seem to work.
Looks like I'll have to load all my morph targets etc again. It's a pain having to almost "recreate" the figure every time you want to update the figure in an exsisting file with a new set of Daz morphs.

if they are dials, just save the preset to the face library.if you want to combine them into 1 dial, i've made a pretty basic tutorial for it.
no unfortunately renaming isnt the issue, the issue is that the V4 Base has a set of readscripts that tell poser to go to a certain spot and collect the morph channels found there, and load them. as soon as you save the figure to a new cr2 or pz3, poser saves the morph channels and not the readscripts thus freezing the figure from being able to add new channels. you could manually add those new channels but it would be a royal pain to do so becouse you would have to add the blank channels to each bodypart.
Quote - hmm, I need to check that , I have routinely saved figures with installed morphs , and I dont ever remember having a problem injecting other morphs to tyhe figure in a scene.
you wont if you have already installed and innitialized them before saving the figure. becouse the blank morph channels even if the morphs were not loaded are saved with the figure, it is only EXP based figures and new exp packages that were added after resaving the figure that will run into this issue, such as the issue that the OP describes.
I think the easiest way of dealing with this is to create an injection pose that will add my regularly used (non Daz) dials etc to the figure. Would still be good if there was some way to update the figure stored in a pz3 file etc. If Daz created script or exe where you could select the figure you wanted to update, it would be great.
I suppose having to do it manually every so often gives you the chance to leave of the morphs etc that perhaps you don't use so much any more and add newer or better ones.

I found a pz3 file that I created a while ago that has a load of morphs loaded into V4 that I like to use. My problem is this. I would like to be able to add the G4 morphs to it. I know that you have to initialize them with the V4 figure, done that. However initializing these morphs only works on the main V4 figure, not any pre-existing "modified" V4 figures saved in my runtime or ones saved in a pre-existing pz3 file.
Is there a way that I can edit the cr2 or pz3 so that the figure is "initialized" and will accept the injection poses so that I don't have to reload every single morph again into the base figure?
For example would temporarily renaming a copy of the figure from the pz3 file to that of the V4 figure, substituting it for the original and running the figure update again "initialize" it to take those morph injections?
Or is there a way to copy text from one to the pz3 file to update the figure in it?
