Subject: working with Lyapunovs in Ultrafractal

havran ( ) posted Sun, 29 November 2009 at 7:24 AM · edited Wed, 07 August 2024 at 2:02 PM

Hello! I just upgraded to Ultrafractal 5 and would like to play with some Lyapunov images.

I found three non-hybrid Lyapunov formulas in the public library, but they all give me a black rectangle.

Any tips on which parameters to tweak, or which coloring methods to use?

We could focus on "dmj-Markus-Lyapunov" for reference.

Thanks!

Kevin

Kevin, I sure am no expert on UF, but found that when I loaded dmj-Markus-Luapunov and played with the outside parameters I just got the black rectangle.  However when I placed a color formula on the inside I began to get coloring.  Ready to play ibn earnest now.

Thanks, Linda! That pointed me in the right direction.

The inside coloring methods that work for a 3d look are Generic Coloring (Gradient) and Exponential Smoothing, with transfer function set to Linear.

After I had something on the screen it was easy to find which seed values etc. to tweak.

Happily playing now!
