DAZ|Studio F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 09 6:27 pm)
By add-on software, do you mean products that you've bought for use in DAZ Studio, such as props or clothing? If so, that's generally referred to as content. I think that most folks would consider add-on software to be plugins.
When the two files are approximately the same size, you only need to install the DS file (DS = DAZ Studio). The other file, which usually has PS in the file name, is for Poser.
When the DS file is quite a bit smaller than the other one, then you need to install both. In this case it's usually a slightly older product created for Poser that has new mat files added for use in DS.
Hope this helps - and that you're having fun! :D

I noticed on some addon software for DAZ3D there can be two exact install files except one of these will have DS in the title and will be very much smaller in mb then the other one.
What doe's the DS mean? and which one should I install? the regular file (larger file) or the one with DS in the name or do I install both?
Thanks.
