The last one I can see was uploaded at December 20, 2009 3:18 ???
Is that a problem on my side, or is there a problem with the freebie hosting or is it just that nobody submitted free stuff?

i have freestuff on my site but i'm not allowed to post the links here cos the site contains "adult" items :)

Well I as the Freestuff Mod, have been off sick having oral surgery but in my absense I see there has been quite a haul of freestuff approved every day including today so far, so I'm guessing maybe you might want to clear your cache I think it's called. I really just checked before coming to this thread and there are 8 items for the 23rd alone...we're up and running at full speed it seems.. ...

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

Well you could upload zipped items to our server like all our other freestuff providers...but then you'd have no platform to complain from...guess that wouldn't work for you eh?

I had posted some freestuff - it took a couple days, but just got approved this morning ;o). Bobby can't do everything himself and when he's taken ill, others have to fill in for him.

Could be too that since the holiday season is so near and some folks are busy that they haven't had time to make or submit anything new (and that includes the freestuff staff). Ya have to take that into account ;o).

I hope you feel better soon Bobby! :o).

There are eight items now for the 23 (they were not there when I wrote, but I konow about the time zones) - but nothing between 20 and 23.
Just for the record - I am not complaining, I was just curious what went wrong. Or whether something went wrong at all.

I hope you are better now! Oral surgery doesn't sound like fun.

Yeah and shovel a huge amount of obtrusve ad bullshit down the throats of whoever was just looking for ostensibly-free item X.

A huge amount?? I count one pop-up window Pjz....with one, and sometimes 2 ads...its not a huge amount. Not everyone likes that extra window, but its not any worse than alot of other sites.

Regardless, this isn't the place to start protesting again about not liking how freestuff works..lets keep it civil and return this thread back to the OP's original query.

Thanks,

~Jani

The original query comes down to the fact that between the 20th and the 23rd a few things happened all the way around. Bobby* became ill, and I was so exhausted from things that have happened to me in the past weeks that I went to bed early two nights in a row, instead of staying up as usual to approve freestuff items.

Everything that was queued as of today that can be released has been released.

Between the holidays, my dad passing away a month ago, retrieving my son from college to come home for two weeks, and my work shift changing twice, I've been been on the verge of collapse. Fortunately this hasn't happened - yet. Under normal circumstances I would have alerted Jumpy, but I just stumbled off to bed without thinking.

Please, bear with us as through the next week or so until the silly season ends. 😄

{{{hugs}}}

As I said, I didn't complain. I was just curious - it could have been problems on my end.

brynna ( ) posted Thu, 24 December 2009 at 5:48 PM

Oh, I didn't feel that you were complaining at all. You were just wondering what was going on. 😄

Personally to me free is free and worth the wait at times. As for pop-up ads I never get them. There are a lot of free programs for download that looks after that little problem besides the settings most decent browsers come with now.

To me it's essentially someone else charging money for access to my freebies (even if they're not charging the user).  I don't do the stuff to be a cash flow source for Rendo.

Now, if Rendo paid a portion of the cash they collect for access to these freebies, that might be a different story, but I'm not holding my breath for that.
