Subject: Creating PDF Files?

Does anybody have any tips on this? I've tried a few times after setting up the files but every time I save it to pdf, it looks horrible?

Are there certain settings or sizes that should be used?

It all depends on what you plan to do with the PDF file. Is it for viewing on the web or printing? I'm a CS4 virgin LOL. I went from CS to CS4 2 weeks ago. I've been going through video tutorials from lynda.com . I think the main settings would be the Adobe PDF Preset and the Compatibility. Choosing Press Quality for the Adobe PDF Preset and Acrobat 5 or higher for the Compatibility works pretty good. You don't have to fiddle around with individual settings as each preset will have it's own settings.

yep. piddled till I felt I couldnt piddle anymore and they all came out horribly ugly and crappy. so I guess I am doing something wrong big time.  but I am using 7.... so that may be the issue...??

have ya tried using the default settings? :)

You could even save it as a PSD in Photoshop then use Adobe Acrobat to create a PDF from the PSD. Vector will always make a better PDF than with raster.

I have zollster. :D

Will try that dreamer... I have the pdf writer at work, just not here... nothing seems to give me something decent.

Here are a couple of sites that I found helpful before I lost the contents I was putting together for a tutorial PDF several months ago in crash:

Are you creating the PDF from a single layer or from layer comps ?

i've used the "print as PDF" and the scripts that come in the FILE --> SCRIPTS --> Layer Comps to PDF menu... and even the FILE ---> AUTOMATE --> PDF Presentation worked out okay for me...

what are some of the requirements of your project?
