"She's ALIVE!!"
In all seriousness, you and Saintfox have produced what I think is one of the most natural and lifelike Poser figures out there. If we get some make-up options and some clothes she'll be amazing! The IBL light brings her out really well too.
CHEERS!
PS (That's the V4A4 Bun Hair she's sporting.)
In all honesty: I like to call this whole process "frankensteining" Most of all because I always start with the eyes and lashes when the rest of the figure is still covered with the seamguide/template. This way you have a livelike look that comes from the other side of the monitor when working on the skin - it looks a bit scary but gives you the needed drive to cover this whole artificial human with skin.
And yes, a little set of Makeups is on my list and will complete the textures sooner or later.
I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!
And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!! OMG the bendings, the scalings, HOW AWESOME!!!
I popped her up in Poser, loaded SaintFox's textures and lights, loaded a hair on her (some minor adjustments, no problem), and rendered. MOST BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
Loaded her in DS3, loaded the textures/lights & hair, did a quick shader (the shaders already look good, just not so realistic) and rendered. WOW! I'm so in love with this one!!
My fear just might come true, that is, V4 being dropped to obsolete from everyone running after Antonia. I'll tell you what, I was HARD CORE V4 lover, but after seeing this girl, my head snapped LOL!!
Remarkable you guys, thanks so much!
First render is from Poser....
Great renders there Wolfie, and I'm looking forward to your make-up textures Saintfox
CHEERS!
Oh wow! ...How could I have been so totally unaware of this figure and its development? (Sorry, I don't frequent the Rendo forums very much, my bad!)
This is an awesome body of work (sorry, pun NOT intended!) by all involved - a real labour of love from what I can see by the quality.
May I have permission to at some stage refit my free footwear to fit her? I'd love to see Antonia get supported by the community, and this would be my own little way of contributing. I'd be happy to refit my Sensible Shoes 2.0 to her, and I could make her a priority refit for my upcoming Bossy Boots 2.0 release.
Congratulations, and thank you for Antonia - She is absolutely stunning.
Cheers!
No permissions are needed here.
Let me use this opportunity to issue a general footwear warning: I'm not yet completely happy with how Antonia's toes bend in 0.9.121. There'll definitely be some JCMs added, but also possibly changes in the joint parameters. Any conforming footwear that needs to bend and of course particularly high heels will be influenced by this, so do yourselves a favour and wait with the labour-intensive fine-tuning.
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
*May I have permission to at some stage refit my free footwear to fit her?
Permission??? I am more than sure that any supporting accessoires and add-ons for Antonia are very welcome. I like your bossy boots a lot and would love to see them fitted to Antonia. This way she will have some practical footwear, much earlier than most other figures in Poserdom!
@Rogerbee:* These are gorgeous renders, very lifelike! But I definitly have to look into my material poses to see why the bump map for the brows doesn't work. Maybe it was just a case of Texture filtering that smoothed it out but maybe I made a mistake that I have to correct. If so I will upload an updated texture, if you hear nothing it was just texture filtering or your settings.
@jamminwolf: Any help with settings for DAZ Studio is more than welcome. Although I own DS, even DS3 advanced, I am pretty clueless on how to achieve an effect like the VSS or even the more simplistic classic materaial system with DS.

Thank you for the responses - I had assumed that there would be no problems if I produced refits for Antonia, but I prefer to be polite and ask anyway to be sure.
And thanks for the heads-up about possible joint changes for the toes. I'll keep that in mind when I begin fitting - although chances are that this might be resolved before I have time to work on Antonia's fitting.
Cheers :o)

ooooooooooooooooooo I can't wait for your shoes refit for her!! Your shoes have always been my favorite and I'd love to be able to use them on this gal :) Thanks headkase!!

As for the simple DS, I can do just well, but I haven't even touched DS3 special shader or the new math thing, it's very very difficult (even more so then Poser) and many have complained about how difficult it is at Daz3D forums.
In doing DS shaders for other vendors as well (characters, hair, clothes), I'm beginning to think that I need to learn this special DS3 shaders, so that I can match all the math stuff added in Poser or I would be unqualified up to date lol. But, the reason I stuck with DS2 was that there are still a lot of users who can't run DS3, and I do it just to be fair.
For now, I'll start with her for DS2 and will try to do the best job ever :) She might not match exactly, 'cause you have a lot of math going on in the Poser nodes, but I do guarantee she'll look good in DS2 (and higher) :)

This just seemed like something which should be relayed back to the development team. I'm not complaining.

Quote - Thanks Cage! I've noticed that, too. The only solution I can think of at the moment - unless one made the eyeball and cornea perfectly round - would be a magnet parented to the eyeball and fine-tuned to pull just the respective parts of the lid outward.
I assume a JCM isn't a good solution because the morph would be linear, and the vertices need to move in a more complex manner?
I'm surprised I never noticed anything similar with other figures. Do they use the perfectly spherical eyeball cheat? Hmm.

The thing is, if she looks down and sideways at the same time, a different set of vertices would be affected. One could try to fake that with a whole cascade of morphs, but a magnet seems simpler. Still, the fine-tuning of the influence zone might be a problem.
Err, when I said parented to the eyeball, I meant wired up to follow the movements of the eyeball. It would need to influence the head actor (and only the head actor), though, so it'd probably have to be parented to that.
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
It could be parented to the eyeball, with the magnet set to deform the head as well as the eyeball and the magnet value set to zero for the eyeball itself, perhaps. A trick like that has been used to have one actor deform another in animation, IIRC. Fist puches a face, deforming the latter only when the magzone parented to the fist makes contact with the face. Something like that.

Where was I? Oh yeah: I tried out Little_Dragon's top for Antonia today, and I love it. Great cut, great design, conforms nicely. This is also probably the first render I posted of Antonia 0.9.121 with the official version of SaintFox's amazing Toni Polygon skin, yes? While I was at it, I checked the chin and found that the bone looks rock solid when I move the head around (pointing the head at the camera and then jerking the body around is a good test). So personally, I'm happy with that, although of course tastes differ.
I was going to start a page on Antonia's site with some info for developers. Two things I'd like to mention here as well: If you have content online that works with the current version, please send me the URL so I can add it to Antonia's link collection. You can either mail to Antonia.Polygon@gmail.com, sent me a site mail here or post in this thread. I'd rather have that than just add stuff I happen to come across, because then people might start to wonder why I included A's link but not B's.
Also, we still have the developers site for exchanging content you'd like to hide from the public. So if you've made something substantial for Antonia (I'm not too picky, but it should be a bit more than a single pose or a single hair fit ) and would like to be able to swap files with other developers, show it here and send me your email address. Or email me your content, or a picture of your content.
Actually, the developers site isn't terribly active these days. People still upload things, but there's not a lot of discussion or collaboration going on. So I'm not sure how useful it really is, but at any rate I'll keep it going until we have a better alternative. I hope one day we'll have a proper site for Antonia with forums, file uploads, private sections and all that jazz.

To be honest, I was too busy being blown away by her to really notice her eyebrows. I do know that texture filtering is on in my settings.
CHEERS!
Heheh,
I soooo nearly got V4's Boy Shorts to fit her in the Cloth Room. I would have succeeded if it weren't for the silly piping round the legs and waist. I tried everything to group it together, but whatever I tried, the piping still fell apart whenever I ran the simulation. Shame, as the main body of the shorts was able to fit her perfectly even when I had her doing the pose odf last had her in. Could someone try it and tell me where I went wrong?

I have some shorts, as shown in the attached image. They were designed as something else, though, so I don't have any textures, and they could possibly use better UV mapping for use as shorts.
They handle pretty well, though. I can prep and post them if there's any interest.

This is a splendid model, really well made and very pretty and normal looking, and the textures are perfect too, nice work odf and Saint Fox.
@Grimmley: I would really like to have this shoe-magnet. Magnets don't like me a lot, I am a complete dummy when it comes to them. What you've made here is fantastic!!
About the developers' site: I think it's still useful, I have a look into it each week or so and sometimes there's something new to fill my Antonia-runtime But in fact the discussion seems to happen here.

Quote - Here's Antonia hot footing it away in a pair of V4's shoes. Fairly easy to fit with a single magnet on each shoe, and parenting to the foot. She won't be short of footwear at any rate:)

This is superb! I have plenty of V4 footwear that I've never used for her.

I thought I would have a go at making some shorts to match the great top that LittleDragon made. There is a long way to go with them but at least I hope they don't look to horrible. I haven't done any JCM for the shorts yet so there is a fair bit of poke through when the legs are bent.
I hit a problem with conforming the shorts. I made then to fit the completely zeroed Antonia, and then used her Cr2 to set the joints , just hip2, lThigh and rThigh. When I first loaded them and conformed to Antonia the thighs stuck out. After digging about in the CR2 I see that Antonia has initValue's set non zero for the thigh rotations. After I zeroed those on the version of the Cr2 I was using for the shorts they confomed fine. Is there a stripped down version of Antonia's Cr2 available for making clothes? If so that would probably be an easier way for me to progress.
Cheers
Ian

Unfortunately I don't have a magnet to fit the shoes to her feet, I just used a magnet to pull the sides out to make them look right. It's a case of lining one of the shoes up and scaling/rotating etc to get a good close fit, then copying the parameters to the other shoe to mirror the position before parenting them to her feet.
Here's a pic of Antonia with B-Mans S3 High Heels, no magnet this time, just positioned and parented.

Ooh. Your shorts are definitely better-designed than mine!
If you have Morphing Clothes, the JCM's can be transferred fairly successfully, although the ERC code will have to be transferred by hand, by editing the .cr2.
If you zero the conformer and memorize it, then save to the library and re-load it before conforming, any unexpected built-in initValues will be changed.
A stripped-down developer's .cr2 would be useful, though.

I'll set them up and post to ShareCG, then. They do have UV mapping. It's just that the mapping probably isn't up to the standards of most Antonia items. Personally, I think Ian Porter's shorts (below) deserve more interest. I'll post mine, so people can tinker and see if they can turn them into something they like.

Hi Cage,
Thanks for the advice on making a zeroed cr2 template . I will give that a try. I have morphing clothes and transferred the jcm morphs ok with it. I have been dialing in the values to match the figure joint rotations, pending sorting out how to set up the ERC. The main problem with my shorts at the moment is tearing of the inside leg ( ouch ). I think this is possibly due to the shorts being a bit baggy there and going outside the bending zones, but I could mistaken ( very likely, it happens all the time ;-) ) Your shorts seem to bend much better than mine, plus yours have UV mapping whilst mine have none yet.
Cheers

I had to do some hand-editing of the JCM's for that area on my figure. There's a thread about it, from a week or so ago. I found that the Poser Morph Brush worked well for correcting the morphs. The resulting tweaks can be mixed into the original JCM's as a new morph, replacing the old one.
The way I worked was to keep the base geometry as close to Antonia's as possible, for the sake of joints and joint morphs. I then morph it into the final garment shape. I don't know if such a process might help you.

Thanks Cage that sounds like a good approach, looks like I might need to do some remodelling. I'm ok with making the mesh and texturing, but ERC and jcm I need to practice.
Can I ask if you used seperate groups in the mesh for the left and right thighs? I have mine set that way at present, but I am wondering if, since those groups are so small on my shorts, I might be able to make the whole mesh one group, as hip2. I like to keep things simple if they work. Could you point me to the thread of a week ago that you mentioned, it sounds like I should read it.
It's getting late here ( in the UK ) so I might not reply until tomorrow, but I very much appreciate your input.
Cheers
Ian
Speaking of magnets for shoes - I always thought Antonia's feet are a little strange. I'd magnet away the flipper-like outside edge, and the bunion, instead of morphing the shoes.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
