Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 30 8:14 pm)
Well it worked fine in Pioneer right up until the moment I installed Frontier.
I'm miffed because I could have quite easily gone on using the free version, but I thought I'd make an initial purchase since that's what keeps the software coming.
Whoever heard of getting less from a paid version of software?
Well, I haven't tried Vue 8, not even the pioneer version. On the comparative charts on the e-on website it seems as if ecosystems are not included in pioneer, theme packs, frontier and esprit. But Like I said I have not tried it so I don't know for sure. Hopefully someone who has tried it can help out here.
Quote - Are you trying to load a material that is to be bought at Cornucopia3d.com? Those items show the cornucopia logo on their preview. They rae for sale at Corn, they are not on your computer.
No - I'm trying to load stuff that is on my computer, doesn't have the little cornucopia symbol on it and is part of the install. Stuff that was working fine before I installed the paid version.
Quote - btw, you could also try to contact customer support if you can't find the solution.
Have you seen their customer support pages? they have a contact option for if you are unable to install the software then they have some paper trails for other stuff that either lead back to their store or to a link to Cornucopia's forums.
It's a dead end basically.
there's a "contact a technician" link on the e-on customer support pages if you open a ticket. I know it works - I've used it quite a few times

Dunno what happens here. What you could try is uninstall everything, then delete any e-on folder in AppData (hidden folder), then delete any vue.reg file in your Windows directory.
Then reinstall Frontier.
This is for Windows only, if you're on a Mac, bet you'll know where to find these folders and files.
Then if it still doesn't work, then it must be a bug that needs to be reported with the Contact a technician button at e-on's.
I usually delete the windows folders that start with "e-onsoftware" from my documents, program files, start menu, and application data directories. I rarely have to go into the registry after un-installing a Vue program.

Hi all
I had a copy of Vue 7 PLE on my computer. I uninstalled it and put Vue 8 Pioneer on my machine (its a free educational version) to try it out. Played around with it for a while and everything looked good.
Then I forked out cash Vue 8 Frontier (the base pack) with a view to expanding over time, and I started by redoing what I'd done in the first version. However every time I try to load an ecosystem material (create procedural terrain > click load material > Material Layers > Ecosystem Layers )(which worked fine in Pioneer) I get the message
This version of Vue can only read content that is locked to your license. Non-locked content will be replaced with dummy objects.
If you wish to import non-locked content, please consider getting the 3dImport module.
Note: I'm not trying to import anything, I'm using the stuff that was loaded by default with Vue.
I searched for the 3Dimport module they mentioned but to no avail.
A bit pissed off by this I went back to Pioneer (which, remember, had performed the operation perfectly before (and for free)) only to find that that too was now giving me the same message.
So I uninstalled everything and started again with the previously happy Pioneer only to get the same results.
Right now I feel like I've been the victim of a bait and switch scam and I'm out $100.
I'm hoping I'm wrong though and that it is just my stupid noobness that has made this happen.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
