that we can turn things- objs, obps, 3ds etc.. invisible when we working..like in photoshop.. where we hide layers.

???  But... I thought we already could, you just click on "Hidden" in the atributes of the object...

Or did you mean in the wireframe?

If so, then yes I agree it would be nice but then how the heck would you find it again?

If I understand you correctly, you can. Select the part or parts you wish to work on and click on the green button, click again to bring the remainder of the scene back in!

Object hiarachy panel
Because of the way scaling works it's inevitable you will have to use groups. I would like to know which objects are in that group.

Oh yes, the Solo button, I'd forgotten about that, thanks JonnyF.

Now that Jonny F has remiminded us about this, Rosie if you have the Bryce Bible there's a whole section about this - from page 145 to 148 - and Solo may be misleading as you can select a number of objects in the scene and then go to 'Solo mode' and only see those items - you can even render in Solo mode.

In the icon tower of each object there is an [A]. This is the attributes icon. Click this to bring up the objects attribs. In right of the box there is an option to make the object 'hidden'.

Er... Bryster, I already mentioned that - but that's not what Rosie was looking for - I think Solo that JonnyF pointed out is what she needs...

and now that I've been reminded of it I can see myself using it too.,..

Yes, I often use the solo mode when putting together complex scenes. Comes in very handy.

erosiaart ( ) posted Sun, 14 February 2010 at 7:41 PM
