Subject: OT - What Are you Listening To?
Um..er..
Dress Big. (The Frogs.. a new musical).. and that too..singing it at the top of my voice, with actions too.. (ahem.. ), Sister Sissors Kiss you off, and an italian song.. una historia de amor .
As for book..on the bedside table: Ken Follet's Pillars of the earth..for the 3rd time. More for the architecure bit of the churches and abbeys. In the bathroom.. ( ducking from pillows).. Campbell's book on Blair. .(.interesting read, btw). and Dicken's Chiswick papers.

Apocalyptica "I Don't Care" . Depressing and somehow uplifting at the same time.
Reading...mostly Time and Newsweek magazines. I watch a lot of DVDs and spend the rest of the time playing SPORE.
I;ll get back to art eventually.

Fran..come to think of it.. it does sound familiar. Hmm.. no idea. Are they not making more or is it the end of the season? I do hope it's just the end of the season. there's another one I'm listening to right now.. old one.. 1993.. but pretty interesting.. esp if you like political satire.. There are quite a few around..if you check the comedy section.. like bedtime news, colin murphy's unanaswered questions.etc. I get rss feeds on them.. and choose the ones I want to listen to .. (can't get UK tv broadcasts outside UK)
Living in Helsinki and working in a rock bar I get "subjected" to loads of Metal, somes good somes not!! On my personal playlist at the mo...Biffy Clyro´s new one, Jose Gonzales, Dj Shadows "Endtroducing"(an album everyone should own!) and Floors And Walls(check em out!!).
Reading Kings Dark Tower series again, watched The Road and Book Of Eli plus playing Fallout3. So Ive got post-apocolypticness on the brain!! Also just read China Mievilles The City And The City, which was great. Rayraz-Given your taste in music I think you would enjoy his book King Rat, a modern twist on the Pied Piper story set to a drum and bass backdrop.
Yup I already listened to that one tonight as well - on BBC iPlayer, as I too can't get TV - I have no TV.

The radio's fine, I can listen to that while a render is progressing, but "QI XL - Gravity" is going to have to wait until the render is finished, as my PC can't manage sound and picture as well as the render.
Rosie, I did find a snippet of a sound byte with Simon Hoggart saying that he saw no reason for the News Quiz to stop:

hmm...check out lastfm, it's a hit-or-miss web site that takes a band you like, then tries to find other bands that sound like them (it's as much fun listening to the 'misses' as the 'hits'...;)

Ah off to Singapore today? You'll miss that episode then, but there's sure to be another one. The one above ends at 10.29pm tonight, as it's a half hour prog, you'd need to start watching it at least by 10pm tonight UK time.
I used to really like Mock The Week as well, but after they had Frankie Boyle on it for a number of episodes I went right off it, he's a mean person and his humour is nasty, leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.
But you don't need a TV - at least I don't - I use my PC and watch Catch up TV off the BBCiPlayer website - can't you do that too?

I've heard some Lacuna Coil, I think even with Collide (or was it Ariya) as a co-written project. Havta look that up.
(I have a very strange way of finding new music; I go to really specialized forums (the latest is Brass Goggles), and find the 'what are you listening to', then run their choices through lastfm and Youtube to see what's what. Found some interesting choices, but at least my ears aren't calcifying on 'classic rock'..;)

nopes..i can't watch even watch British tv on the net. You guys down in the UK have to pay a tv tax.. and since we outsiders can't pay it..we don't get to see anything... not even in any of the European countries. Gov't law. It gets blocked even from the net. I watch the stuff I like on youtube.. poor substitute..but what to do?

I think the thread contains multiple advisories because i marked my post about the genitorturers with multiple advisories..
after all, i wouldnt want to be responsible for a random kid that loves rock music to get grounded cuz his mom hears lyrics about BDSM, pussy worship, etc. blasting from his bedroom while the kid might not even be realizing what he's listening to :)
Not to mention some of the grown ups around here might take offense to the lyrics as well...
I suppose the powers that be could remove the advisories i put on those posts if they decide my written warning is sufficient, but i didnt really wanna risk any trouble.

Thats what i thought :) its a good band thou! catchy tunes :D or nice atmosphere to it.. or sometimes just to shake things up a little :-P
Well.. some moshpits are dangerous.. it kinda depends. The ones at drum&base parties arent that wild, they're kinda easy, any beginner can enter them and if i can split the entire pit in two with my less then 70kilo's.. its really not that dangerous hahaha
But yea there are some bands where people do come out the pit bleeding... but i havent been in one of those :)
I have seen people coming out the pit limping or with what seemed to probably be bruised rib(s) or such.. but so far the worst i've had myself was gettin the air knocked outta me a few times and once i almost got knocked out by a really big dudes elbow, but i managed to stay on my feet and no 5 minutes later i floored him (and helped him back up) so its all good :D
