Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 1:08 pm)
Ummmm, yeah...because I want to. (she)
Sure I could tell a customer click on the prop/body part and click invisability in the properties panel, but I think it's a little more polished to turn dial and part is invisable.
I am aware of erc, thanks. But I want to know if we can control other parameters (visable) through a dial.
So peps can this be done and how???
Geometry switching is what you want, if it's a body part in a figure (CR2). Alternatively, a visibility pose will give the same effect but through the library interface.Â
For making a PP2 prop disappear, geometry switching is unreliable, but you can use a morph which will shrink the prop to zero and/or whizz it offstage smartly.
I'll get back to this thread later - have to work now. ;-)
Just click on the small key symbol right to "visible" and Poser will create a dial to turn visibility on/off. (Introduced in Poser 7, I think.)

You're welcome. I only have Poser 6, I didn't know about the visibility dial feature.

Once you've made the dial, is the resulting figure compatible with earlier versions of Poser?
Poser 6 will simply ignore the visibility dial if it is in the CR2.

This is how an Animated Transparency dial seems to work for me, on props, and in P6. I don't know about on figures, or later in versions on Poser.
The transparency dial will be called "Preview_PoserSurface_7", and will work fine on the rendered image. The effect of a change on the dial will not show in preview... Unless you enter then leave the material room, which will cause a refresh of the material status in preview mode.
Setting the material to transparent is not in itself sufficient to make the material invisible. For preview you need to have Transparency Display set to 'Actual' in the Render Preview settings. For preview or render you need to have Transparency_Falloff set to zero (the default is 0.6), and the Specular_Value set to zero (default is 1.0).

Hi there.
Is it possible to edit a dial to hide a prop?
And, if it was a figure could you edit a dial to hide a body part?
Thanks!
