Subject: Antonia - Opinions?

SaintFox ( ) posted Sun, 04 April 2010 at 4:59 PM · edited Sun, 04 April 2010 at 5:02 PM

Sorry for the OT, but that happens when cats come in.
OMG... I hijacked this thread - this was not my intention!!! So far  there's still just one kitten. No name yet as we are not sure about it's gender - and a close friend of us wants to adopt it when it's old enough so maybe we'll leave it to him how to call the little critter (but if it's a tom-cat it very much looks like an Anton 😉). I've heard of it both: Young cats only having one baby or getting pregnant while already pregnant and because of this giving birth to another kitten some days later. As long as babie(s) and mommy are well and in a whole we are happy regardless how much kitten will be born.

I am, no wonder, very tired today and so I will just enjoy easter and some good movies - but Leo is fit and working on the freebie site!

SF, I love that image with the text!

I am eased - I did not want to "kill" the original pinup, this was just an idea when I saw that pose - and I wanted to do something with the volleyball-set.

I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!

Almost decent? Nay....MORE than decent. Much more. Hate to break it to you, but imo she looks as a woman should. Very womanly shape. Very much your average female. Not anorexic or super athletic, but any woman you should see in the supermarket or at the kids ball game.  Which is so good to see finally. But somehow, I think you planned for people to have this opinion of her all along. I'm very impressed.

Lip overlays will be uploaded tomorrow night. They have not been adjusted colour-wise. I've left that for people to do as they see fit. As with the eyeliner, I've saved some selections to alpha channels for people to make adjustments to suit their tastes. SaintFox has very kindly allowed me to use her texture as a base for making a blank lip layer so they are fully compatible with Toni Polygon when used with  that blank layer.

Thank you very much SF, and congrats on your furry baby!  :D

I've been doing some more work on the hands. Here's what they now look like with the fingers together, after futrther reshaping and some fine-tuning of the joint parameters. I've also changed the rotation order for the thumb to XYZ, which is closer to the traditional hand rigging in Poser figures. I think this stuff might keep me occupied for some time to come. I'd really like the hands to scale properly, as well, which will take an insane amount of fiddling, if I can manage it at all.

Do you use propagating scale? I've heard that is useful for scaling hands.

odf,

The YZX rotation order in Antonia's Thumb1 did surprise me a bit. but the rotation order does seem to vary between figures, P4 figures are XYZ, as is V4. Surprisingly M4 is XZY, as are V3, The Girl and SP3.

In P4 figures, The Girl, V4, V3, SP3 and M4, X is always the twist JP channel. I don't know enough about rigging a human figure to understand the significance of any of this.

Quote - Do you use propagating scale? I've heard that is useful for scaling hands.

That sounds like a good idea, provided that the other factors can be wrestled into submission enough to allow the scaling to propagate to the fingers without distortions when the fingers are bent. That sounds like a big ask, fingers are notorious for not scaling well. Perhaps deleting any smoothScale channels and just relying on propagating scale is the way to go.

Rogerbee1 ( ) posted Mon, 05 April 2010 at 12:30 PM

I've never actually tried it myself, I just read about it and remembered it.

CHEERS!

Gareee ( ) posted Mon, 05 April 2010 at 12:47 PM

Propagating scale does NOT work properly in any version of DS.

It scales hands or feet  fine, BUT you also need to create an erc control, with a smoothing morph for the hand to forearm connection.

Sometimes the smoothing morph is easy, sometimes it is quite difficult. To add head scaling to freak, I actually blended about 15 smoothing morphs to get it to work properly.

Since I did all my Daz PLUS sets, I'm sure I could add boy part scaling to Antonia, but since the work requires a final cr2, and a final obj, I can;t really look at it our touch it till she is 1.0.

Any cr2 changes, or obj changes, and the work could possibly have to be redone.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

Rogerbee1 ( ) posted Mon, 05 April 2010 at 12:53 PM

Oh right,

Bad news for DS then as it was a Poser article that I read. I think I'd leave that side of things to odf.

CHEERS!

Gareee ( ) posted Mon, 05 April 2010 at 12:59 PM

Poser pro 2010 added support for Daz's V4 figure scaling I beleive. For dual compatibility, scaling would have to be added in that manner.

I made some nose morphs. They are not great works of art, but may help to add a bit of variety. The 12 morphs are packaged in in one delta injection pz2 that uses PBMCC channels 11 through 22. There is no REM file

As usual, you will need to drop the ".TXT" part on the file name. You may need to disable 'Hide file extensions for known file types' in the Windows Folder Option View tab, in order to see the extension.

Here is what the nose morphs look like in profile.

I may do a more extensive package later, using the same technique of one dial to change between morphs, as used in Dial A Nipple.

Let's give a round of applause to Digital-Lion and SaintFox because without their help this site would still be just an idea.

To upload your free items, click on the "Members" button and the upload menu will come up.
Thumbnails size is 200x200.

There are two sets ready at the site, SaintFox and Digital-Lion have uploaded their beautiful texture set and I have posted the Gran Tia set.

And for any further news about this site, I will let SF tell you what she and Leo have planned.

Leo is planning on a banner rotation that can be implemented in websites. So everybody who wants to send in Antonia-banners is welcome!
The banners should be child-safe (like those here at Renderosity) because we have no influence where they will be displayed and as they are rotating.
The size should be
200 pixels wide and 50 pixels height

The adress where you can send the banners to bannercollect(at)german-3d.de.
Please replace the (at) with an @ - I have to write it this way to prevent the box from spam.
We just lauched the eMail adress but it will take up to three hours until it's alive (why ever - our hoster is a bit strange, but it's cheap 😉).
