Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 14 4:48 pm)
LOL!!!! Okay, quick wit and good senses of humor! Always nice to find those lurking about. Yea, I see that Black Velvet stuff at all kinds of roadside flea markets. So, I'm one of the newbies here. Does this site host the galleries alone, or is it a shared burden? Is there a link to the rules for posting?
First off, I think a beginners gallery is a very good idea. Not only does it reduce our fits of depression, but it will be fun later on down the road to see how we have progressed in our work. Next: yeah, I'll go out on the limb and post. But I just saw the "What's New" ones, and lets just say mine doesnt compare by any respect. ;) I was using the Dork, so theres more work in Photoshop done than Poser. Its a self-image (and a pretty $#!++y one at that), but what can one expect for a meer cumlative 3 hours worth of work? At least I think the idea behind the image is cool. It was made for outside my cubicle at work, and in all honesty, it was to show off a resemblance of myself to my co-workers, just enough to get a "thats cool!" from them. And once you see it (and keep in mind that this was made for a work enviroment), I think you'll get the underlying joke to the picture. That, and laugh at how pathetic it is. If you still want me to post, I will, but I'd really appreciate someone else posting a bad one too. Misery loves company. Just reply to this thread saying, "dammit! I'm with you man!" and I'll post it. ;) PS - I have some real characters now, with some real good ideas, and some real work forming, so dont think that my image is the extent of my abilities. Okay? Please?? Thaaaaaaaank yoouuuu..... ;)
Amp, I will be posting my stuff, hopefully, at some point tonight or tomorrow night, depending on how work goes. I have three images that I'd like to post, and by no stretch do I consider them as good as what I've seen here. I think that a beginner's gallery is nice idea as well. That means that those who don't want to see the scribbles of those of us starting out, don't have to see what they might consider to be crap(can I say crap here?). I also don't mind constructive criticism; as long as it's constructive. If someone says, "I don't like this because of X-Y-Z." I really don't have a problem with that. If somone says, "I like this, but if you did this part like this, it might improve it in this way." That's cool too. However, if someone just posts to say, "This sucks." I'll be ignoring those. That, to me, is trolling, not constructive criticism. So, keep an eye out later on. I'll let you guys know when my stuff is up.

It's funny that you guys would mention posting crappy art. I did that very thing recently and got some hilarious feedback on it. I attached the link to it but I warn you, its total garbage.Attached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=73069&Start=1&Sectionid=1&WhatsNew=Yes
Let's see if this works.Attached Link: http://www.2thextreme.org/pose.jpg

I have to say that I've been to the galleries and the stuff there is amazing! There are so many talented artists and the stuff I'm seeing, it's beautiful, creative, detailed, breathtaking and damn intimidating too! I hope to make a fair showing at some point. I have a few images that I hope to post soon and get some feedback. I'm still learning a lot of this stuff, but it's coming along. I just had to say that there are some very talented people here.
