Subject: Rendering Problems!!!!

i have the indoor pool. When i put in a character, and render the picture, it renders black. If i remove the pool, it renders okay. Why?? I have moved the lights, played with the transpaency but nothing works. For the picture i am working on, i need a good looking room. This post also goes with the one below about ghostly images. Can anyone help?? **Miss Nancy, if you read this, thanx. But i don't have photo shop. All i have is what comes with windows 98 and poser.

post jpegs of the renders with and without the pool. it sounds like the pool is blocking the lights, but it may be something else, i.e. the figure is totally immersed and transparency is set wrong.

okay, here is the pool rendered. its all black. why? i have applied the pool textures that came with it. i seem to have this problem with all the rooms i have. and i need a room for the piece i am working on. its very important. and i like this, because of the plants and shape of it.

it's almost as if you're using a crippled demo version that doesn't allow renders either that, or you have to move the camera inside the pool wall or room wall or whatever

MindsEyes ( ) posted Sun, 29 July 2001 at 8:42 PM

okay, i must have to move the camera. becuase this is the regular cd. for 200, i expext it to work. Thanx nancy

actually.. you have to move the camera out of the wall.. it looks like you have the camera embedded in the near wall.. move it forward a bit that should clear it... I get a simular sometimes when I'm running a cavern terrain in Poser 8 ) hrmmm.. underwater room eh? 8 )

MindsEyes ( ) posted Tue, 31 July 2001 at 10:34 PM

i can move the camera around, but our of the wall? i use the rotation ball and all, but no matter what i do,it always renders black. no matter what room i use, ie: pool, cellar, hq room. i can zoom in tight to the face, but it still renders black. there better be nothing wrong with my program either, or someone isnt going to like me.

no.. not side to side.. forward back. let's see... I think it's the one on the right side that controls X Z movement... heh heh .. let's see if I can do a "graphic" current []< is the camera []< scene... what you have. []< scene... what you want... the being the wall... like I said your camera's embedded in the wall or outside it 8 )

Try setting a spotlight inside the room, unrendered the normal lights will shine through a one side mesh, however when you render this does not work. for work inside boxes you need spotlights

thanx. i will give it a try. lets hope it works
