Subject: Help Posing V4's Legs

OK, so I'm trying to make a pose in which I need to have V4's leg pulled straight out to the side. However when I do this and get things to looking halfway realistic her, for want of a better term, butt cheek and thigh increase in size and bubble up. Playing with the dials only makes things worse. Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

I know this pose is humanly possible, however is it Poserly possible?

You could have considered the terms: '...Buttock and Thigh...'
They are the proper name for those anatomical parts that you wished to refer to.

Ah, thank you, I wish I had of thought of that while writing my post (my grammar takes a nap after midnight, my apologies). I'll keep this in mind next time :-)

Thanks again!

Dear Li-C.;
With all due respect, and with Tongue in cheek aside, it is always good form to strive for a higher and more serious tone when writing than when speaking.  It naturally commands greater respect, and enhances one's stature.  Two such commodities that none of us can have too much of.

And now that the language lessons are over L...
I think you'll have to use magnets to fix this. Or the morph brush, depending on which Poser version you're using. The morph brush will work in Poser 8 and higher (although it's present in Poser 7, it doesn't work across body parts as you'd need here) and otherwise a magnet is probably needed to pull the offending bits into place :)

There is/was a product here called "Real Buttocks"  for  V4, that provided some adjustments but I'm not sure if it would fix this extreme tuchus distortion. Hopefully using Tuchus won't make me seem too lowbrow.

I agree completely. As a writer who has received many commendations on both her written and spoken grammar, I am well aware of this fact.

Thanks again :-),

Derriere would also have been perfectly acceptable!

I'm making a package of poses to sell. Will magnets save with the pose?

Not in a Pose file.  You could however, save them in a separate Props Magnet file, and then include a Readme directing people to apply both the pose and the magnet together.

Personally, I have no problem with "butt cheek". There is nothing wrong with that. That is what it is, isn't it?

dphoadley we thank you for your language lesson but I don't think it was really needed.

Li-C. :
I think your best try is the Real Buttocks. I've heard good things about it.

No, it isn't.  'Butt Cheek' is a crude vulgarism made up by the ignorant.  Buttock is the proper technical term for that article of anatomy, and one no less easy to remember, pronounce, and write as the other.

That may be but everyone can call whatever parts of the anatomy however they like.

Yes they can, but if they do they can't make pretenses to either culture or intelligence.  As you can dance at two different weddings at one and the same time, neither can you display abject vulgarity and pretend to intellect at one and the same time.  You are either one or the other.

Yes, but everyone is equally free to either grant or refuse respect and esteem in accordance to the manner in which one deports oneself, both by way of action and vocabulary.

DP,  I will make this short and the end. Giving someone a "language lesson" can be considered rude. If you do not like the language don't reply or just look past what you feel is a fault. We all have them.

@everybody;
With all due respect:

Quote - DP,  I will make this short and the end. Giving someone a "language lesson" can be considered rude.

At this point, I don't really care whether I am or not.  You have indeed gotten my 'dander' up.

[quoteIf you do not like the language don't reply or just look past what you feel is a fault. We all have them.

Again, the OP stated specifically: > Quote - ... for want of a better term.

I simply pointed out that there was indeed a better and more dignified term.
Yours truly,
David P. Hoadley

PS: **@**Artemis.; You are correct, and I will indeed leave it now.

If you feel a need to point out a better "term",  please do so in a private conversation. Then in a public forum where it doesn't belong.

Thank you DP

Actually, David had dropped the language lessons and was back on-topic -it was the Staff that brought it back up and egged him on.

I'm a Moderator on a model railroad Forum, and folks there are just as opinionated at they are here.   I know first-hand that it is sometimes tough to not chime in, but Forum staff need put keeping order in the forum above expressing their personal views ...

1st, see my previous answer to this question.
2nd, there is another possibility: spawn morph targets from your magnets, then delete the magnets, then activate your new MT's, and THEN save as Pose Files.

Mr. dphoadley! If you have a desire to give grammer lessons, then I suggest that you took a wrong turn. This an artist web community and the grammer class is down the hall and to the left. If you really want to learn art then I am sure you would be welcome here. Twas my Grandaughter you were picking on dude!

to the OP actually there is no need to use magnets, it looks like you are using bend at 90 Digrees and side-side to swin the leg over to the side, that will always cause problems(even in a real human it is probably impossible to do) just use side-side and the leg will bend better, if you want you can use twist on the thigh to point the knee down more or less as well as you show there.

What does a dictionary have to do with anatomy ? Go look it up in an anatomy book.
The Gluteus Maximus is the large muscle that extends the thigh backwards and helps with outward rotation
The large fleshy masses of muscle referred to in your second quote are the glutes

Guys please as i've previously stated, keep the thread topic to what Lisa has posted, if you cannot post anything in here to help Lisa's original post then do not post lessons on what to call anatomy parts.

thanks!!
.Artemis.

Thank you so much! I will try this.
I tell you I used to think I was pretty good with posing, but in this last endeavor of mine Victoria4's legs has gotten me to second guessing myself.

Also: To DictionaryPersonHoadley:

I thank you for trying to be informative and helpful to the fellow Poser users as well as myself, however as has been previously stated, your help has been terribly off topic. This is not the place for English lessons. This is the Poser Forum, and this was a Poser question. I did not ask you to correct my English. if I wanted correction I would have ran my post through a grammar checker, however I have never needed one. As it is you have done an excellent job at turning my post into a flame war and I do not appreciate that.

So at the risk of being rude, kindly take your dictionary and refrain from lecturing the other fully grown and perfectly intelligent users here. It only causes stress and in this day and age no one needs any more of that than they already have in their day to day life.

Thank you.

And once again to WDupre thank you very much for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

Also to the residing Forum Moderator I apologize for any trouble my thread has caused, it was not intentional.

like Artemis said above, there is no need to say sorry about anything. I hope that you were able to find an answer to your question. :)
