Ya know, we are only allowed 3 here but I think it would be great to carry this over into the gallery with uploads that show everyone what we have learned here, playing with shadows. That's the beauty of the challenges...we get three shots to push ourselves, measure our creativity and skill and then we use it in our work whenever we can. I think it would be great to now see some of this excellent work brought back to the gallery.

Hello Clive.
What a super ideas you have developed and posted.
They're fantastic, really.
Stupid me, that I had not the idea to use a lamp.
I was just waiting for the sun (which is not or hardly) wanted to show herself.
They are beautiful, those pictures of yours.
Wishing all of you a sunshine day,
Mies.
Gosh Clive - I am most impressed!! Just look at these two superb shadow images!!! I cannot decide which one I like better!
Excellent work on both... and I'm so glad you mentioned that you had fun! That is exactly what the challenge is about... challenge yourself to try something different, yet have fun while doing it!
great shots indeed!!!

Exceptional, wild_child... you are really acting outside of the box and its an inspiration for me... combining a macro with an object like this to emphasize the shadows is brilliant.

This is a special shadow...showing what was and what is now healing.
OK, How did you do this? I have been working with x-rays for awhile and not getting the fabulous contrast you got, Tom. What's the secret?

PJ, very glad you asked...I tried something out of need and it worked! Yeah! My scanner is a goner so thats out. There is viewing screen at the bird center but I don't have one.
Ok, I took a graphic program which was Paint Shop Pro 8 in this case, opened a "new" blank image and filled it with white. I propped the x-ray on that and shot the image. Wow! It worked much better than I thought and is actually easier to see here on the post than holding up to a window, etc.
I do have a wide screen monitor and maybe that helped get enough of the film on the white but a standard size will likely do ok if the film is not too large.
So, there you go with a secret revealed. yo friend, Tom.

Thanks, Tom! I did the scanner thing and it didn't work well. I hung one on a window and it only gave me too much white and little contrast. I've been wanting to photograph some x-rays and frame them for a display in my hall way. We all seem to have an x-ray around here and I thought it would be interesting...
Bruce, I didn't know you were a stilt-walker! LOL

Andrea - I really like your image! It does look like Buster's shadow... truly weird! Your hand is a nice touch! Looks like you wanted to stroke him! I like a lot!
Tom - despite the sad cirsumstances, it is a brilliant idea and excellent execution! I love it! Thank you also for the "quick tut" on photographing x-rays!!! I'm glad the kitty is on the heal now!!
Bruce - hey - that is awesome! I actually wanted to shoot an image like that but we haven't had much sun lately! Love it....
Excellent work all! This is really F U N !!!

Andrea's dogs are channeling each other? That's too weird. LOL!
The x-ray thing is too cool! I'd never tried to photograph one, so this is all fascinating to me!
Nice to see you at the beach, Bruce, instead of working your behind off all the time. :D

Wow ... great stuff, Clive! Fantastic!
I've only done three, so I'll keep looking around. I haven't even LOOKED at all the images I shot in Kansas, so who knows what might be in there? I remember taking some shots and thinking they'd be good for the challenge. Hmmmmm ... Wonder what they were? LOL!
