Unfortunately, I can help with the last question only...
You can access the archive by clicking on the "archive" link just the current list of topics...
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showforum.php?archive=12366
You can then set a date range... like Jan 01 1995 till March 01 2010 and you'll get all past topics.
When using the forum search, it will search the archives as well...
As long as you set a sufficient time range... like newer than 5,000 days
Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.
As far as I know, you cannot paint using a pattern instead of a color in photoshop. But you can paint with a color on a layer and then apply a pattern to this layer, I'm not sure this would give you the result you're looking for though.
What trouble are you talking about when you say you're having trouble importing patterns and colors? How do you proceed?

OK, you know the Millenium Cats (*big)? Well in almost every pose there is this horrible stretching on the legs, stomache and other areas. In order to correct this texture flaw you have to painstakingly add little bits of the texture to the area, sometimes resulting in over a hundred small appliques of texture to make the cats look good. It is most likely why they are used so little. I was hoping for an easier solution to this effect... see knee joint example above> It is also a problem on the stomache because the texture there was realllly stretched at the edge of the Mil Cat seams.
All help is appreciated! :)

Is there water in your future or is
it being shipped away to be resold to you?

It is certainly possible to paint with a texture. These instructions are for CS2 but I know they work in earlier versions.

Yes you may be a newb here... but obviously you know your PS! I am finding that PS is a constant present that you open and find a new gift almost every day thanx to smart folk like yourself!!! I honestly do not mind postwork, but this had become just ridiculous in scope. So your advice is safely stored in my PS folder under best Tuts!!! (*hint)

OK, I am bang wiz at doing this in PSP (*blush) but to this day I cannot figure out how to use patterns with my brushes in PS! Specifically Antje's "FUR" brushes. I have pics of Mil cats that need severe touch up on the legs and bellies. If I could do that using a patterned texture the effect would be beautiful. Using several colors to 'duplicate' fur is tedious and killing my hand... :P
Also I am not sure why but I have trouble improting patterns (*and colors) into PS. What should I be doing???
ThanX!!!
Oh a last question... what happens to all of the old PS questions /answers here? I am so disappointed that many are gone and I cannot find the archived forum posts.
