I just tried to use this weekends 10% off coupon and it does not work on sale items.  The email about the coupon does not indicate this.

No error this coupon will not apply to sale items

As a customer I find the fact that the email doesn't say that annoying.

The recent 30% off coupon (last week?) that worked this way had this stated up front in the email.  This one should as well.

While I hate to contradict Preston, the coupon is working on sales and clearance items.

If you just look at the shopping cart contents on the left after you apply the coupon, the warning "this coupon does not apply to sale or clearance items" appears under the item(s), but the 10% discount is shown on the right side just below the sub total. 

I have placed two orders this way with only sales and clearance items in my cart and the discount has been taken off correctly.

Hi, I was confused by this coupon as well, I didnt check out because I was unsure whether or not the discount would be applied. There really needs to be clarity on this issue.

Contradiction is good;-) Ok the coupon should apply to sales and clearance items. Let us know if not. We have made some changes and I thought maybe the coupon was not applying to the sales items when in reality they should be

Hi thank you for the reply, it does apply but the fact that it says under the item that it doesnt is confusing. I feel uncomfortably when the bill has conflicting information.

I strongly believe that the merchants here who sell high quality products should be able to set their own prices for their quality work.  The marketplace is already seeing a serious decline in the average quality of products and this new type of coupon will make that worse.
