 PLEASE DO NOT SHOUT.

If you want to use Gamma Correction, have a 64-bit OS, would like to render over a network, or use any of the features which are not in Poser 8, PP2010 may be for you.

Yes. You are able to link to your previous libraries.

If you have a 64bit computer, Poser Pro 2010 can make use of all of the RAM you've got.  P8 is 32bit only, so while it will run on a 64bit machine, it is still limited to a 32bit memory allocation.

PP2010 has more options for importing/exporting geometries.

Have a look (search) here on threads dealing with this question: they are legion, and filled with all sorts of valuable decision-enhancing information.

Poser Pro 2010 advantages:

  • Runs the executable (scene setup, etc) in 64bit, and most important, it renders in 64bit, so you can bring lots of RAM to bear.
  • Extra capabilities in import/export of geometries (Collada, etc.);  important if you model.
  • Render in network, applying all of your computers to a project;  great for rendering animations.
  • Gamma correction rendering
  • Fusion with high-end studios
