Subject: Hackd

Looks like you guys have been hacked.  I have managed to block the pop ups and get this message in using firefox, can not get here at all in IE.  Keeps taking everyone to bookface.  better check it out

Rapierman ( ) posted Sun, 13 June 2010 at 4:02 PM

It's actually a hijacking;  The site "MyBookFace" is pulling users automatically from Renderosity without permission.  This is happening regardless of which page I go to.

I think it tires to contaminate our computers too.  Norton gave me a big blocked attack message the first time it pulled me there.  Be careful everyone

Good thing I just alerted McAfee and got the site submitted for a security examination.

Looks like the hijacking issue got solved.

Yes, but not a word about it.  Hmmmm

StaceyG ( ) posted Sun, 13 June 2010 at 5:45 PM

I haven't been able to get to the site til just a bit ago to post.

Our techs have been working on this all day and are still doing research to find out exactly what is what.

Thank you for your patience as we try and get this resolved.

Order #111776825 6/13/10

I had to go to a different computer in ordere to try to download two items I just purchased today. Because, after ordering, I couldn't get to my Account page (or even the Renderosity home page), being continually redirected to Mybookface. Now, I'm told that after only a second attempt to download one of the two items, I have reached my download limit.

Does anybody know how to get around mybookface? Does anybody know what I need to do in order to try a third attempt to download Inked6? SavageWolf made it, but for some reason Inked6 did not.

I'll also try to send an email to store@render.... to see if I can get a redownload approval.

This is truly frustrating. I'm not sure whether or not I'll continue to use Renderosity, if this situation doesn't get cleared up immediately. Hopefully somebody at Renderosity will be able to advise us how to get our computers back in working order.

I've reset your download links for you so you can try again.

The issues we have had all day are the reason you couldn't download and we are doing everything we can to get this completely resolved but it does take time.

You should be able to download from your my account page now

BerdacheBear ( ) posted Sun, 13 June 2010 at 6:24 PM

Thanx, Stacy. These are the two items I bought, partially with the Gift you sent me. I was going to send you and email later, after I had finally resolved the current problems. I'm going to try to download from this computer, since I'm not sure whether you are telling me I can download from my main (infected) computer. I'll advise you as to success/failure.

I've just sent an email to store@render... because I wasn't sure how long it would take to get a response here. If I'd known you'd be the responder, I'd have know it would be in less time than it would take to blink. :)

Thanx, again, for the Gift. It led to spending more money than the gift, but it is still appreciated. Now, if only this darn hacker thing gets fixed quickly, I'll be a happy camper.

Will somebody (you, or somebody else if you're not on the job at the time) be sending us all emails letting us know when the mybookspace a$$wholes have been taken care of? I'll never understand what these people gain by doing something like this. Do they really believe anybody affected by their hacking is going to have anything to do with them?

We will be making a statement when we can Marc:)

BerdacheBear ( ) posted Sun, 13 June 2010 at 6:55 PM

Know I sent you a private email, but wanted to make a public "thank you" for your help. All issues resolved, and (as can be expected from you) in record time. Great service -- and great providing Renderosity as a name to be trusted.

Rapierman ( ) posted Sun, 13 June 2010 at 7:44 PM

Hey, the fact that I was able to get access to the site a couple of minutes after the issue tells me you guys are already on top of it.  Good job, and keep it up.
