They should allow links to adult sites with a warning message and let us decide whether we want to navigate to the site or not.

There's a lot of adult content in the Renderosity Galleries.  That's probably why my workplace blocks access to Renderosity, because it's an Adult Website.  Maybe Renderosity needs to disable all links to it's own pages to be consistent with it's own policies.

Osper ( ) posted Tue, 15 June 2010 at 4:29 PM

I'd say that Infinity 10 is safe.  Her link is to a Blog that lists the sites.  The Blog itself appears to be safe (by itself).   Renderosity has a say over what content they allow on their site.  After all it's their site.

BTW:  thanks infinity10.

I certainly agree with that.  And Renderosity does have the right to make whatever policies it wants.  But their policies and content should be consistent with each other.

Quote - But their policies and content should be consistent with each other.

Renderosity aren't responsible for how block list creators classify the site, so there is no inconsistancy.

nakamuram ( ) posted Tue, 15 June 2010 at 6:25 PM

What I'm saying is that Renderosity has adult content on it's site.  In the eyes of most people, an adult web site is a web site that contains has adult content.  If Renderosity doesn't see itself as an adult web site, what is its explanation for exempting itself from that classification?

Jumpstartme2 ( ) posted Wed, 16 June 2010 at 2:52 AM

The TOS is pretty straightforward in the description of what Renderosity considers 'adult content'

Members/Users will not use this community for:

Advertising or linking to any publications and/or web sites that are sexually explicit , and/or pornographic in nature

Site Areas (Galleries, Forums, Homepages, Blogs, etc):

No Explicit sexual content [No manipulation of breasts/nipples/ no sexual situations/ no 'implied" sexual acts/ no extreme or explicit S&M bondage situations/ no lewd or obscene sexual references]

There may be 'nudity' on Renderosity, but nudity in and of itself does not constitute 'adult content'.

casual clothes for natu at chocolate's site.

nakamuram ( ) posted Wed, 16 June 2010 at 10:37 PM

I just read Renderosity's TOS -- the term "Adult Content" doesn't appear at all.  There are references made to "Explicit Sexual" and "Pornographic" Content, but there are other kinds of "Adult Content",such as Playboy and other nude images.  Therefore, Renderosity has  "Adult Content".  Here is a webpage that discusses the issue: http://www.eff.org/issues/bloggers/legal/adult.

My concern is: Musicat cannot post a link to some really nice freestuff on Red Viper's site, because that site has some sexually explicit images.  Musicat's intent is not to advertise porn, but rather to help us get some free items.  Isn't it better to let Musicat post the link with an "Explicit Sexual Content" warning, and let us decide if we want to follow the link or not, rather than to religiously follow site policy and deprive us Renderosity Customers of something nice.

Jumpstartme2 ( ) posted Thu, 17 June 2010 at 2:00 AM

Nakamuram, Renderosity's TOS is Renderosity's TOS...which everyone agreed to when they signed up..links to sites that have adult content, including sexually explicit content are not allowed.

Again, nudity in itself is not deemed adult content by Renderosity's standards. If you want the link to sites that contain such content, you are free to contact members via the sitemail feature.

infinity10 ( ) posted Sun, 20 June 2010 at 1:53 AM

I get that problem sometimes as well.  I think it has something to do with the web browser scripts security permissions.  I seem to be able to get the download buttons if I use Safari and sometimes, Firefox.  I really don't know what the exact cause is.

For folk who might want to keep a lookout for Futenpen's freebies for Poser, this page has 3 to-date.

Futenpen-san lists His Poser stuff in the lower table of the webpage.  ( The upper table contains links to some renders )

The linked zips are itemised under the left-hand column, and sample pictures are linked in the corresponding right-hand cell.

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity

Non-Toxic-san has some freebies for MayaDoll and AnimeDoll, eye glasses, a morphing hair braid, some bust morphs, and a cute anime-style cat figure.

Click on the Freebies link on the menu at left of his website, to get to his freebies page.

I have not explored the rest of his website and I can't guarantee it's adult content-free.  So take care.

When you click to download, you will see some Japanese words and a linked URL.  That's the actual download.  The CLOSE button is for closing the download page.

I checked and can confirm that the figure is not available; but there is no announcement.  Perhaps a temporary removal ?  The creator did say he made the figure as a learning exercise, so he may be tweaking the figure.

For folk who use Sketchup, the free 3D modelling app, you may want to see these amazingly intricate downloadable models of traditional Japanese architecture ( pages in Japanese, though ):
http://sketchupsyaji.web.fc2.com/DL.html

You can download the Google warehouse versions, as linked there.

These might be useful for folk who like to render background images in-situ with Sketchup, or use Sketchup to convert the models themselves for use in other apps.

I sometimes convert the models, depending on complexity, for use in Poser or DAZ Studio.

In fact, do look out for loads of Japanese models in Google Warehouse.  There are some really nice ones there.  My favourite creators you may want to search for there, are:
noburu
kazu
and
goodtaste

( and if you want to look at amazing 3D Chinese models, try Tunnytan or moonlander1954 )

I am going to make a link to Chocolate's post about Natu, because this is an important announcement:
http://chocorate007.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/85/
He says:
JCM tried modifications to the results , I noticed that there is no sense and good bone. Become modified following the modification like this ... ( _ _)
So , NATU rebuilt from scratch to fix bones of the body . Modified the way, "NATU Ver.1.5" is . Cyber clothes would come with .

Therefore, Natu figure upgrade version is forthcoming.

Very cute anime-style Cure-Marine dress for Aiko4 released by 赤まむし ("Red Viper"), link at his gallery over at the Japanese pixiv website.  His link goes to a google docs zip archive, from where you may download the item.  Again, I am unable to post Red Viper's link explicitly here, for Renderosity ToS reasons.

BlackKnight has done a render of this dress:
http://blackknight.way-nifty.com/poser/2010/06/post-0864.html
This link is safe to go to, I believe. Just scroll down until you see the render of the girl with the bright aqua-marine hair.  That's the dress in question.
Same webpage also shows - see last render - the cute bikini which Mammomammo has just released ( see Mangaka-online's post above ).
