We are going to fix that ... next ...
Doing just fine Doc.
Guess I shouldn't answer these questions to give others a chance to learn. You taught me too well in the past and I really learned alot.

Uh oh ... Doc's got egg on his face :sad:Page 7 had an error on it.
The corrected image is posted here. (above)
If you saved Page 7, please replace it with the image posted here. Thank you.
Can you find the error?
The original page 7 image said to use the "alt" key when adding and subtracting polygons. This one has use the "ctrl" key to do this. Having trouble using "alt" and figured it was just me.

Sorry 'bout that. My sincere apologies. :sad:cheers, (anyway)

****** POP QUIZ ***
Something on SmallWallW is missing ... What is it?***
Inside edges of the hole (window).
Ah see. I caught that too but am a little slow to the forms today. The cherries are ripe and it's time to be making wine.
BTW don't feel bad about jumping into this lesson. I see all the page views here and was beginning to think I was the only one interested enough in this to comment.

parkdalegardener, I have been lurking here... reading with great interest on how to create a small room. I haven't commented because all the questions that I have were asked and answered... LOL
Is there anyway we could get this thread stickied and kept from moving out into oblivion? Keep it as part of the tutorial collection?

Me too Doc. I'll check this out after a bit of brekkie. Not sure if you'll hear much more from me over the next day or two. It's Canada Day so I get to blow things up. Great fun as I am sure you know. After all you folks get the same thing in a few more days.
BTW it's nice to see some of the lurkers out.

Scrambled eggs ?????????????????????
Yeah scrambled eggs. That's what happens when people throw eggs thru your open window and they miss you and land on the floor, instead of hitting you in the face. IE the Doc has egg on his face post.
For your own protection, I would get that window in place ASAP. Next thing you know you might even have fireworks flying through that open window too
Sitting eating an my eggs and bacon waiting to see how you construct the window casings.

Keeping my mouth shut on this one but it's not hard at all. A couple few years ago we did that but a refresher is always handy.
Just make sure you don't try to get ahead of Doc on these tuts and just follow along as they happen.
YES! ... We can do that ... pretty soon.
Aw shucks ... let's do that ... Next ...
Got your Magic Box yet? :glare:
Click HERE to get a Magic Box (it's a small ~5KB ZIP file named "6polybox")
... or you can ...
Click HERE to see how and why to make a Magic Box (Magic Box tutorial)
( the why is on Page 2 )
... or you could do both ...
Can you find the Magic Box? - CLICK on the image to see the "magic" ... ;=]
Why get one? ...We will be using a Magic Box to make our "glass."
Why do we want to use Doc's "Magic Box?" And why is it "magic?
Hmmm ... Stay tuned ...
Remember ... "With Poser, all things are possible, and poseable!"

Thanks Doc. I downloaded the "magic box" prop but made one as well just to stay in the loop and maybe learn a little something. I'll be using my "magic box" for the next section.

WOW Doc. All I can say is wow. There is a lot of stuff here for me to peruse. The more I check out the more there seems for me to check out. I can see why you are considered the authority that you are. Enjoy your holiday.

We will continue .......................... when we continue.
FYI - Here's the why ... in case you missed it.

P.S. Obviously, we could not have used the Magic Box for our SmallWallW ... but ...
.. we could have used it for the SmallWall (with no window) ... no?

We could, but wouldn't that potentially mess up the textures if we're using a procedural texture on all the walls? of course you could UVMap everything to the same scale but as it is, the magic box is (at least as far as I know) Uvmapped to a different scale than the Poser box.
Other than that: I love Low Poly, too :)

Quote - What kind of room would you like to make?
Let's start with a bedroom. They have a wall with a window, a wall with an opening/closing door; and a couple of blank walls that could be wallpapered or painted as the case may be. I figure this ought to cover all the bases. After all you did promise Trekkie wallpaper sans external UV mapping.
A return of the 6poly box for the door maybe?
