The winner of the June Bryce Challenge - Orbital - has thrown down the guantlet with this for July.

That way we have some continuity. So use your imagination and use Bryce as much as possible. Postwork is allowed as are other imports if you need them. After all we might as well be heretic on this challenge.
Anybody unfamiliar with the comfy chair reference needs to ask the Bryster!

Anybody got a solution to this problem? (I thought I would take it through 3D Max and re-work the mat zone but it's big in polys to export back out)

 Great idea but Mac users above Bryce 5.0.1 can't load .3ds files (bug). Don't see any restrictions about conversion though... I wonder if that would be OK? to publicly post it in another format?
Edit - nope, just found this when I went to the DL page:

If you're having a problem with this download I suggest the you make/build a similar chair in Bryce or import a like object from another source. I won't disqualify any entry for not using this particular model provided the replacement is more or less the same design.

If you can convert this one through another (heretical) app, feel free. Just don't scream too loud when I make you sit in it. ;-)

I get the same error when trying to use the challenge link, Challenge Page link and can't see it on the Open Contests page.

Yes, I have my cache cleared  and everything but still get the warning ... You get the page because you're the higher upper... We lower 'uns can't penetrate the stratosphere... :woot: :tongue1:

I forgot how addicting it was to work with Bryce (been about 10 years since last I used it). Stayed up (very, very) late last night tweaking textures onto a single mesh chair. It's amazing the varying results you can get even when working with just a single mesh object.

I hate that 3DS files like that don't maintain prper material zones on import to Bryce Poser or Carrara! I mean come on people! How long has that format been around huh?

WIP sample images. The chair model  is all one mesh so my options are limited but I think I'm liking the results. I need to work more on the rest of the scene. I think the windows need to be larger.

Sorry I was a bit rushed when I posted the model link and didn't have time to try it out before hand. If you have problems with it, use something similar.

No real prize except the knowledge that you did your best and tried to expand your skill set with Bryce. This is a challenge, not a contest. :lol:

 Just started this week end - should have something done before the deadline.
But July and December traditionally are the 2 slowest months for challenges. 

i'm happy with my entry :D

 Well, I saw the entry page was still open earlier today, so I started on an entry to play with Bryce 7 (huzzahs for Daz) and then I saw that voting was already on. Next challenge I suppose....

 I went ahead and finished my would-be entry and loaded it to my gallery if anyone is interested.
