THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Is the Daz 3D site down ?

artbyphil ( ) posted Tue, 13 July 2010 at 5:36 AM · edited Sat, 02 November 2024 at 7:23 AM

Been trying to get to it yesterday and this morning. The browser seems to go to the address but I just get a blank page. I'm based in England so maybe its just certain areas having a problem.

I get the New to 3D start here page. Theres a sale on Stephanie. Works just fine.
Try clearing your cache. Maybe then it will load.

Not sure what this is. I've got 2 computers here, both using the same internet connection (but not networked together) and it wont load on either of them. The rest of the internet is working fine though. Very strange.

As sometimes happens to me, every once in a while a site that I have gone to religiously seems to be unavailable when all others are fine - and I have no idea why it happens, but maybe any spam/phishing filters you might have in place have inadvertantly got confused and starrted misinterpreting that site as spam!

Like I say, sometimes it happens to me after I turn the compute off at night and turn it on the next day or download an update! Hell, one time after I did an automatic update from Microsoft, my version of Windows suddenly was "not authorized" and wasn't registered. I just did a system restore and all was well! These OS's are getting so nuanced anymore that any little "burp" can trigger false alarms in them. Try looking at your site permissions and see if everything is ok, you never know!

Well I've checked everything I can think of here, still no luck. I can't see anything blocking it.  . I've found that if I use a link to a forum topic from my email it goes into the forums ok but none of the other parts of the site work.

It seems to try and load but very slowly , about 5K a second , gets so far then just stops.I notice the activity on my connection stops.  I'm wondering if theres a dodgey  connection somewhere that may be just affecting a certain area. Strange that its only affecting that one site though.

Have you tried googling Daz and using the main link, then logging in? Sometimes Daz has decided it doesn't know me.

Thanks for the idea gave it a try but still gives the same problem. Its as if when i try to go to daz  I'm back on dial up speeds,it starts to load very slowly then it stops all together  like the screen capture. All very strange.

Did you try using a different browser? I'm having trouble with FireFox at the moment on some sites, where Opera loads them fine.

artbyphil ( ) posted Wed, 14 July 2010 at 3:49 AM

Yea I've tried opera, forefox and IE , seems the same on them all.. Its still doing it  this morning so whatever it is its got me baffled. if anything its worse, yesterday it was loading painfully slowly and then stopping today its not loading at all.

I suppose there must be lots of connections and hubs between there and here that could have a fault The fact that its doing it on 2 diffrent computers , one of then a recent install makes me think its not a fault at my end.

has anyone got the  email address at daz to ask them about this ?   I cant get into the site to find it , I'll try and get their take on it.

cheers

You could call them at 1(800)267-5170, a toll free number, but first try doing a ping or trace test... I don't know what type of computer you have but if you have a window or a mac, go to this site NWTools.com and use Trace. That will probably tell you where the blockage is and the amount of time it took to complete. Type in the form box, daz3d.com and click on go. Hope this helps.

It means that something is down on the 7th hop. You will need to talk with your internet provider. Or you can just call them.... Tell them you are having difficulty access this one site and you ran a trace and found out something odd...

Hi

well its seems to have come back up! yeepee,

still a bit slower than usual but much better which means it could be getting fixed.

What was strange is someone I know  who lives a few doors up with the same service provider and same internet package  was having no problem getting into it. All very strange and confusing.

anyway thanks for all the suggestions everyone.
