Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 14 10:48 am)
Stephanie 4 is a morph (and some partial scaling) of Victoria 4. You have to have the V4 base (not the version included with DAZ Studio) and install S4 to the same folder that V4 is in. You can point the installers to any folder you want if you choose the DAZ Studio install option. The options are poorly named as the Poser option makes the installer search for a/any folder/s with a Poser.exe file in it.
The "Update V4/M4" is almost always the problem, and that doesn't have any options when you run it.

If you then look at the boittom of the palatte, you'll find a "+" sign. Click on that, and it'll ask you to add a runtime."
Thanks, SeanMartin and parkdalegardener, you saved me hours of work. I was about to re-install everything into Poser.

Quote - Hello again. Thank you from a lot of people in regards to my earlier post of introduction.
I took people's advice and went to DAZ studios to download the A4 and V4 character files. However, for some reason, I can't even download them into the system! I got the files, and started the download process, but for some reason after choosing "Poser" as the destination it has some kind of error...
"When used with Poser TM, ___ must be installed ot the same Directory as the application executable; due to restrictions on support file locations. Please select the directory that contains your Poser executable..."
What in the world is that popup about? What is a Poser Executable?
I'm starting to regret buying Poser...I didin't know that downloading content...would be so..frustating...:(
You haven't posted again. Please come back.

Yeah it sounds like you also have a problem getting the updater to run, at least it was courteous to actually give you a fail message. The usual problem is that somewhere, you have more than one !DAZ folder that the updater is finding and trying to process, and it hit the wrong one. I don't think there is a way to force it to hit a specific !DAZ folder, and imo the only way to keep this from happening is to only have one !DAZ folder ANYWHERE on all hard drives, because the installer seems to go find them wherever they may hide.
