Subject: Queue Manager temp directory

markok13 ( ) posted Thu, 12 August 2010 at 10:02 AM · edited Fri, 15 November 2024 at 4:34 AM

Is there a way to configure PoserPro 2010's Queue Manager so that it uses some temp directory other than C:Documents and Settings[username]Local SettingsTemp?

I'd like to try using a different disk for the temp files for queued renders, and I can't find the way (if any) to configure this in Poser or Queue Manager.

Thanks.

Try setting the TEMP environment variable to the directory you want to use.

Arrrgh.  I don't know why I forgot about Windows's TEMP variable.  Thank you.

Though actually, I ended up doing it a different way: I configured the disk in question to mount right on my "Local SettingsTempQueue Manager" directory rather than having a drive letter.

Having a disk dedicated to doing nothing but Queue Manager temporary files has really sped up the renders I'm doing at the moment.  But I can imagine renders where it would help very little at all.
