Wait for me, wait for me, calling the goats, here we come!

dochtersions ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2010 at 10:10 AM

This was Friday on the heath.
(my first one)

Oh, and P.J., your Thunder, has he tap dancing as a hobby?

Bye all!

DAVER2112 ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2010 at 10:21 AM

Wow! What a great collection of shots. Tara made me laugh "Mountain Goat" Lol!! He's far braver than I am, and The shots of Thunder are priceless. I can just see him going crazy runing around and having fun. Love the shot of the goats, that's something I don't get to see around much.

dochtersions ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2010 at 10:56 AM

Oh dear, Helle!
I also have missed your hilarious drawing!
Wow, an amazing comedy-look!!!!
You should do something about it, huh? to shoot a good picture.

Karel has ever taken a picture of me, how I was "standing" making a picture : In all sorts of curves!
LOL about your perfect drawing 👍

Meisiekind ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2010 at 11:46 AM

PJ - Love the last shot of Miss Thunder! Sorry - I called her a him in my first comment. I can see the craziness in this canine! She is a hand full of energy!

Mies - Are those goats running towards the sheep? How hilarious! Very well caught indeed!

Carin yes, she belonged to the herd but had strayed, and came with a high speed down the mountain. She almost flew through the corner, in their hurry. (LOL)
Bye, bye!

MrsLubner ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2010 at 12:12 PM

Helle, I love that sketch! That is priceless and reminds me a great deal of the style of James Thurber. Amazing.

Mies, those are really great herding goats. LOL  Nice shot!

Wayne, I remember a time when I could do that and not worry about breaking my neck. I love the exuberance in your son!

Dave, that's what I call poetry in motion! I love watching the moorehens at the park.

I'm coming in late on a lot of great shots!

Skiwillgee, Wonderful capture of a person right smack dab in the middle of a wave.  I love the way the water shows in a clear layer over his head!

Daver, Terrific capture of the moorhen.  Great motion in the wing and super reflections!

PJ, I love all your pictures of Thunder!  She looks so happy in the first one and she moving up a storm in them all.  She's very Twisty, isn't she!

Whaleman, Your pictures of your grandson are a joy to see.
That kind of motion I now enjoy vicariously.  Great captures of his nimbleness.

Mies, Wonderful scene!  The dog looks like he's thinking, "Where you been? Get over here!!"  I love the motion in her coat!

I'll try to brave the heat sometime before August is over, but meanwhile, here is a shot I took in New York in May.

MrsLubner ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2010 at 9:21 PM

That's a stoke of luck and a bucket full of skill! Getting that gull with the water flying as well as it! Wow. And great stopped action.

Great stuff in here :) I stalked some kind of bee today trying to get an action shot.   So here is entry #1 from me :)

myrrhluz ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2010 at 10:12 PM

Thanks PJ!  I stood waiting on a bouncing boat saying, "Come on bird, MOVE!" and he did.

Terrific capture of the bee!  Love those buzzing wings!

MrsLubner ( ) posted Sun, 08 August 2010 at 10:56 PM

Bees are incredibly hard to get. They are all over the place and I can't be still around them.  Fabulous motion in the wings.

dochtersions ( ) posted Mon, 09 August 2010 at 6:04 AM

A great action shot Lucinda!
So beautiful how the seagull traces are in the water, and go full steam ahead, with the wind.
Success with the heath, and greetings from Mies.

Too bad I do not get all messages sent from here.
Sorry for my late reactions, but this is the reason.

Wow, I've been missing all the "action" shots!

Better get my rear in gear and get out to take a few, although with the heat & humidity lately I'm not sure anything around here is moving fast...

I will sneak in an old shot (well, not too old, taken last month at the renaissance faire) of this awesome falcon and his trainer.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?

myrrhluz ( ) posted Tue, 10 August 2010 at 11:30 PM

I love falcons! Beautiful action shot.  Wonderful capture of the interaction between trainer and falcon.

MrsLubner ( ) posted Tue, 10 August 2010 at 11:54 PM

I have really enjoyed looking at all the entries and they are all very interesting too! I believe my fav so far is skiwillgee's water cap, such a great capture!

Here's my third and last entry, the very top of Crescent Falls, with a little extended shutter time to capture the action effect.

helanker ( ) posted Thu, 12 August 2010 at 1:21 AM

Wayne, that is awesome and so refreshing. A really great shot.

dochtersions ( ) posted Thu, 12 August 2010 at 7:42 AM

Yes Wayne, a perfect action-shot. And also very beautiful to see.

MrsLubner ( ) posted Thu, 12 August 2010 at 8:12 AM

I still have yet to master halting water movement. This has a lot of shine to it that helps show the flow but leaves good texture.

Superb capture of the plane, caught at just the right moment.  I've never seen one pop a flair.  Love the smoke trails too!

Great work everyone!

From a medieval festival this weekend. No jousting or sword fights, but a ton of other entertainment - including this lady who danced on broken glass. Quite a show.

As if standing on the glass wasn't surprising enough, she started dancing on it too. Just one of the amazing performances taking place all throughout the fest.

Mario, please join us in this challenge to create action shots. You can upload as many as three photos each month. Just be sure they are no more than 800 pixels.  If you need help, you can sitemail me and I'll be happy to help. We'd love to see your action shots!  And be sure to check each month for a different challenge!
