Mario!  So glad to see you posted. These Challenges are so much fun!  I know how tough a bee in flight can be...so difficult that I've never gotten one that worked.  And the flower is also gorgeous.

Mies, did you get the action when you fell off the log into the mud too? LOL  That's great. Puts me on the edge of my seat waiting for what comes next. :-)

Hello, Mies
fantastic to see you in action! Beautiful pictures and very nice! Thank your husband for this shot! A wonderful evening
Mario

dochtersions ( ) posted Tue, 17 August 2010 at 8:47 AM

Thank you Mario.
@ PJ Then Karel ( my husband) would have had yesterday make pictures of me. I fell 2 times on my butt (in the mud, and very wet plants), when I wanted to take pictures of a spider.
Bye Mies.

myrrhluz ( ) posted Tue, 17 August 2010 at 9:15 AM

Hi Mies,   That's quite a balancing act!  It looks like a fun (and messy) walk! Great picture, nice smile! :)

helanker ( ) posted Tue, 17 August 2010 at 10:33 AM

WOW! There happened alot, since I was in here last.

3Dguy, that is a mighty beautiful shot of the plane. Must be reeealllly difficult to get.

Bob I am impressed by the shots of the dancer. They are really beautiful. Brave lady :)

Mario I like so much the flying bee. A really lovely capture and I find it very difficult to take such one myself.

Mies I really love the shot of you trying to keep the balance LOL ! That is really fun and awesome. :-)

I have had difficulties finding something exiting for my LAST shot so this will have to do. RAIN and RAIN and RAIN ![](../../mod/forumpro/art/emoticons/bored.gif)

dochtersions ( ) posted Tue, 17 August 2010 at 10:50 AM

Wet action, nice, nice, nice .
I'm missing you, Helle, singing in the rain (LOL)
Cool photo, Helle!!!

I'm certainly enjoying all the entries. Hope we see many more yet!

Beautiful capture of the falling drops!  That branch looks positively weighed down with the rain.  I wish you could send some of that rain this way. We are roasting.

MrsLubner ( ) posted Tue, 17 August 2010 at 1:04 PM

Helle, that IS exciting. I can feel the rain storm in this. Very descriptive!

Weeell I am  not singing in the rain anymore. We got  enough rain for the rest of the year.
I wish I could send you a weeks rain.    And thanks Mies for your kind words  .

Oh yes, Lucinda. You bet it got heavy. Everything did actually. We even have storm right now.

helanker ( ) posted Tue, 17 August 2010 at 1:15 PM

OH, Thank you PJ   Yeah and you bet it is storming in this moment. TSK TSK !
But honestly I like this better than being roasted of to hot weather.

mariogiannecchini ( ) posted Tue, 17 August 2010 at 1:48 PM

Dear Helle, these days the only action in the water, full days. Very nice image!
I also photographed it rained

Quote - Wow Bob, very interesting shots. She must have really hard callouses on her feet, or no nerve endings!

She put on a really entertaining show. Very dramatic expressions, and with some humor thrown in. Like dancing "over" the glass to start by dancing on one side then jumping over the pile with a big flourish and an ear-to-ear smile. (I got those shots too, but with a three shot limit I had to pick the uploads carefully.)

Instead of hard calluses or dead nerve endings how about running the glass pieces through a tumbler with polishing grit until all the sharp edges are smoothed off? You could still get poked a little, like walking on gravel, but at least there wouldn't be any bloody footprints in the grass.

Bob

Mario you are right, but this morning we are having a bit sun and it feels so lovely. :)  You took a very great shot of the pigeons and thinking about the distance, you really did beautifully.

dochtersions ( ) posted Wed, 18 August 2010 at 5:41 AM

A fantastic shot, Mario.
Great action between the birds.
Great composition too, Bravo!

Beautiful shot, Mario!  Wonderful blurred wings! I like the attitude of the white pigeon.  He looks like he is saying, "This is my perch! Find your own!"

Thanks, Helle, Mies, PJ and Lucinda,
Good afternoon. Today was sunny and I tried out for photos, but a mail carrier I came upon him with considerable damage to my car. I passed the desire and went home. We try again tomorrow. (I did not hurt)
A big hug

Hello Mario,

I'm glad you're not hurt.
And hope the mail carrier is also o.k.
You'll be shocked, I guess.
Take care, Mario!
Friend greetings,
Mies.

Mario, Maybe try to stop the car before you take pictures? .... Sorry only joking
I am glad nothing happened to you ... or the mail carrier.

myrrhluz ( ) posted Wed, 18 August 2010 at 3:35 PM

Yikes, Mario! I'm glad you're okay.  That could definitely take the edge off of the desire to do much of anything.  Take care of yourself. Hugs :) Lucinda

mariogiannecchini ( ) posted Wed, 18 August 2010 at 6:25 PM · edited Wed, 18 August 2010 at 6:32 PM

Unfortunately, the mail carrier had the wrong address and watching sena has backtracked and, with the narrow road, I could not help it, I have the whole right side of the car damaged, but no damage to the person. Thanks, I'm going to bed for me and 'very late.

helanker ( ) posted Thu, 19 August 2010 at 1:58 AM

Mario I am sorry your car was damaged so much. It gives alot of troubles afterwards. I hope it can be fixed.

dochtersions ( ) posted Thu, 19 August 2010 at 2:01 AM

It is not nice that your car is damaged, Mario.
But you can take a picture of the damage, and upload it here as your own action shot. 😉
Oh me, what an action :woot: !
I hope that your car can be made quickly. Lots of strength with it.
from Mies.

helanker ( ) posted Thu, 19 August 2010 at 2:10 AM

Thought I better get a couple in before the month and challenge was over! Love everyone's shots! Some really great action going on.

My first one is a little hare I saw from my window, so the shot is not real clear because of the screen.

Here is #2 from me :) I was at the park last week and there was all kinds of action going on.  I just didn't do such a great job of capturing it all.  but, it was fun!

#3 A diving Cormorant.  I might add, this is the first time I have ever seen one of these birds.  I was so excited.  lol.  He/she was a great bird too.  He preened and posed and let me stand within a few feet and take a lot of photos.  Then he decided to cool off and dive into the water.  I almost missed him.  :)

There have been so many interesting entries so I have three more to add to the mix. This first one is a CN worker doing some grinding on a rail line just minutes after a train had passed.

My third one tonight shows some action by swallows picking their part of the wire. Thanks for looking!

Wow! I missed the ebot for all of these!  Wonderful action shots all! I love the variety of actions.  I've got my other two which I'll post once I'm back in San Antonio. One taken from an air conditioned car and the other in an air conditioned house. lol

Meisiekind ( ) posted Mon, 23 August 2010 at 12:46 PM

Mario - wonderful image of the bee!

Christo - your image is perfect! Real life action! I really like it a lot!

Bentchick - Both the hare and the bride images are just awesome action shots! I really love the bride one!

Melinda - Both the butterfly and comorant are fantastic! I am always amazed by comorants staying under water for so long!

Whaleman - WOW - the guy welding on the tracks is amazing! Well done! The running water as well as the bird coming in for landing are great!

Thank you everyone for your wonderful participation! It is a load of fun looking at all the action images!
