Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
And the winner is ... ???**
However, we need to make our stringer the correct size so ...
It's back to the drawing board and ... you guessed it ... good ol' DGS ... ... Next ...
Does that answer the question ? ...

Doc you are amazing. If you are as old as the dirt you built this house on, this project brings back memories of the ancient poem, "This is the House that Dr. Geep Built!"
Plus I can't believe you would risk building a spec house in this economy! :woot:
So much valuable stuff. Thanks a ton!

Thanks Gary, I appreciate the feedback**. **
*(Old as dirt, ha ha?)
*Now ...........Are we ready to build a house ... yet? ...
Oops, sorry, we need to finish the NewFloor and the FloorPlug first ... sorry.*

Ok, what do we need to "fix" on the "FloorPlug" before we save it?
... and ...
Why is there a question about whether to "Center" it on Import ... or not?
Anyone? ..... Anyone? ..... Anyone? ..... Bueller? ..... Bueller? ..... Anyone? ..... Anyone? .....
Anyone ?

Awesome tutorial! And the "instructional" pictures are as fun as the building construction is innovative I've been doing a lot of architecture lately--I'll have to give this a try! It actually looks quicker than messing around in Wings 3D, which is what I've been doing.
~*I've made it my mission to build Cyberworld, one polygon at a time*~
Watch it happen at my technology blog, Building Cyberworld.
Maybe it's a problem with it's "normals." ....................... Maybe, just maybe. ...
And ............................................... Here's how to fix it.
~ Import Options ~
To "center" or not to "center" .......... That is the question ...
If we check the "Centered" option when we Import the FloorPlug, it will be centered which will make it located 2 feet (24") out of position. Easy to fix ... just change xTran to 0.240 (24") to move
it 2' to the right ... OR ... just UNcheck "Centered" when you Import and it should come back into Poser in exactly the correct location. ... Your choice.

It's easy when you have the pieces ...
The girls are really gettin' excited now ...
Uh oh, someone left the door open ... we may have a family of coyotes move in before the girls get a chance to enjoy the place ... maybe another fence?

Whew, someone finally closed the door ... but ... I hope it doesn't rain tonight since there still is no roof .... better get Ed to get busy on that roof before the Monsoons start.
What kind of roof should we make? ... Flat? ... Nah, that's too easy ...
Let's do a roof with some gables ... YEAH !

Looking good Doc.
Coyotes, not many of them here in England we do have a lot of cats though :)
Roofs I always find them tricky make them look good, without going overboard on polys, so I'm looking forward to your take on them.
(The Henley House, nice coincidence Doc, I bought that just yesterday!)
P.S. the steps textures, they yours, ConWall_01.jpg and cinderblock.jpg
Improvement means change. Change need not mean improvement.
I use Poser 12.0.757, 11.3 and or 2014, on Win10 64bit.

Ok, that's enough pics .......... Let's get back to work ......... Now, it's on to the roof !Got your Magnet(s) ready?
You bet Doc. My internet is a bit spotty at the moment so I haven't been able to check out this thread as often as I would like. I see there are a few more contractors in this thread. Good work being done. I just hope the girls can pay the rent
Well, I guess I just did on this page so, please forgive and we will continue as soon as the welts* on my head heal up.
I will post a new Page 41 ASAIGIM.

Let's make a frame for our roof.
We will build it on the "Floor" (i.e., yTran 0.000) because it is easier.
After we have a completed the roof assembly, we will move it up into it's final position.

Ah, you learn quickly grasshopper. ...
Low poly is PC (or Mac) number crunching friendly, however ...
There is another reason we need to use the lorez (6 poly) box prop to make our stringer ...
... we shall see what it is shortly ...
I shall produce the next page quickly to demonstrate ... Stay tuned ...
