You do not have to Import anything. Just copy/paste the contents of "C:Program FilesDAZBryce 6PresetsObjects" over into "C:Program FilesDAZ 3DBryce7PresetsObjects". (or, whatever you installed either program)
"The BIG issue is that every once in a while Bryce decides to empty the library I import in. Every file disappears".
Bottom line; IMO, never use the Import feature unless copy/pasting the folders fail. Some of those .obp's are just too big. (and life is too short)

Agent Smith, with all due respect he said it had been over 2 years since he had used Bryce and that is about the same for me. In that time I have migrated from a 2.2 GHz Pentium4 thru 2 Dual Cores rigs and now have 2 Quad Cores one with Vista and the other Windows 7. None of the rigs past the last Pentium 4 have had Bryce installed on them because Byrce permantly crashed the Pentium due to an issue in a code conflict with Bryce 6.1 and DAZ Studio. You know the old saying: "Once Burnt"???
In any case I purchased Bryce 7 Pro and installed it on my Q6600 and I can only import 1 OBP at a time and I have No Previous Bryce Program Files to paste in my Q6600 or my i7 x86 Program Files. So they have to manually installed. Could there be an issue with 64 bit systems maybe???
Another thing I have had several crashes just trying to save a piece of work. Now this was not full builds, but rather a beginning part of what I wanted to be a much larger scene and when I hit the "Save As" button, BAMMMM Crash. So after Bryce 6.1 crashed an Operating System on a previous computer of mine I am now very leary to use Bryce 7 Pro. At least I am only out $15.08!!!

Maybe there is some misunderstanding?
You don't need any previous install of Bryce to do this. If a Bryce user is going to import any .obp file, then as alternative route, they could also manually copy/paste that file within windows explorer.
As a simple example; I download someones .obp from Freestuff. I will unzip it and within Windows Explorer copy it from where I unzipped it, to; C:Program FilesDAZ 3DBryce7PresetsObjectsUser
Boom, that's it, no importing ever needed. The same goes with .obp's you may have backed up elsewhere, which is what it had sounded like when I read ek-art's initial post, is all.

It's been so long since I used Bryce, I obviously forgot the easy way to get the older .obp's into the libraries.
But - does this explain why the libraries empty themselves? Or why I can't delete the now empty libraries?
Maybe I should mention that I didn't put the .obp's in the user folder, only in libraries I added to the existing ones in the "installed" menu. Does that make any difference?

After being away from Bryce for over 2 years I bought the 7pro upgrade. I have a lot of .obp models, so I'd put them in the libraries..
First problem is the import process seems insanely tedious. I have to import each file separately (which makes sense), and I have to close the library and open it again for each file I import. If I don't do this, Bryce crashes..
That I can live with (sort of).
The BIG issue is that every once in a while Bryce decides to empty the library I import in. Every file disappears, poof! After that happens, I cannot import into that library again. (I'm talking about libraries I added myself). Another thing is, I can't delete the dead library either.
So... can anyone help? It could be my own fault - anyhow, I'm blank on what to do.
