Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 22 9:27 pm)
I seem to recall that the method was to enable Universal poses, then re-save an existing character-specific pose in the library, which saves it as a Universal pose.
So load V3, pose her, then save the pose in the Pose folder, and it should turn into a Universal Pose.
Edit: That works, more or less, though more extreme positions will need some tweaking to match the original.

If you're joking that's just cruel, but if you're being sarcastic, that's even worse.
Quote - There is also the Python script builtin which does the conversion, single or batched.
What script is that in Poser Pro 2010? I did not know it had anything for this. Have you used it and if so, where do I find it and how does it work?

Quote - I can recommend puppetmaster, made by PhilC and available at content paradise. Works very easy and it has batch processing AFAIK.

PhilC is not listed as a seller at Content Paradise web site. Can you give more details or a link?

I tried using the Universal Pose python script and it batch converted my old V3 custom poses. However, it really did not do anything that just loading the pose on a V3 and then re-saving the pose did. They looked nearly identical using these two methods and turning on/off "use limits" did not help either. Basically, they simply are way too messed up still using these two methods and it would take just as much time doing them over as it would to try to make them correct.
Is there any way to improve my results? Does the PhilC "Puppet Master" work much better? I did a search and found several posts on this saying about the same thing, but I was not sure if anyone has had very good results using a certain method or a certain program if one is available that would work well.
Thanks.

The full standalone Puppet Master script does a better job than the builtin Poser version. I have successfully converted poses from V3/V4 to Miki2 with very little distortion and tweaking. Again, rather extreme poses may be problematic and the application feature will get you as close as you can possibly accomplish on a first try.

Using Poser Pro 2010 I am having some trouble getting my custom V3 poses converted over to V4. What I would like to do is make them a new "universal" pose if possible. Someone told me there was a fairly easy way to convert older poses, like for V3, but I can't get them to work and most are way off from what the original was.
Can anyone give some advice and help in converting V3 to V4 poses or making them a "universal" pose in Poser Pro 2010?
Thanks for any help.
