WAIT !!! .......... Before we can use a Magnet ... ***... HUH?***

We use the Grouping Tool to duplicate a modified, i.e., box prop, so that the "NewProp" has all it's parameters "normalized."*

Now we can Create a Magnet to deform our wall ... Next ...

  • normalized means...
    all Scales = 100% - all rotates = 0 degrees - all trans = 0.000

Remember ... "With Poser, all things are possible, and poseable!"

Remember ... It's always a good idea to "Lock" an object after it is placed.

You might want to Export/Import the parts of the Attic Assembly to combine them and then ...

Save the Attic Assembly in the Props Library ... just a suggestion. 😄

Next ... The roof ...

I like it Doc. Haven't been by much 'cause my phone company screwed up my line. DSL keeps dropping out. Really makes it hard to post. Somewhere between writing and hitting the post button my connection has been taking a dump. Thanks for this and a render coming up as soon as I get a live connection for more than 1 or 2 minutes at a time. I've been told the problem is being fixed but with a long weekend we know that didn't happen.

Just returning to this thread myself. Local construction severed my internet a few blocks away and it took a while to track down and fix. I deal with a 3rd party company for my service so the big guys aren't too quick when it comes to fixing things.
Glad I didn't really miss much and I'm happy all is well with you Doc.

Neat trick Doc.

Pop Quiz: It was a neat trick but using the grouping tool to select all polys results in the polys ~moved~ by the magnet being selected and the removal of the magnet allows them to spring back into shape. I'll try exporting the triangle, before grouping; and importing it back into Poser to "glue" it together and at that point do the grouping to see if that works.

The answers to the Pop Quiz are:

The methods on Page 68 did not work because the (x,y, and z) Scale parameters were not 100%.

The one thing we could have done was to make a duplicate object so that all the Scale parameters would be 100%.

"Reset" the Scale parameters to 100% by making a duplice object.
(Use the "Create Prop" option in the Group Editor)
= OR =
(Use the EXPORT / IMPORT operation)
