Subject: Weird happenings....

ladylake ( ) posted Wed, 08 September 2010 at 9:57 PM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 5:33 AM

I have been having trouble with IE.  Often t will not close.  So I have to go to the task manager to end it.   When I get to the task manager there is usually lots of DS stuff hangingout  there when the program is not open.   If I end each of these items, then IE will work again.   Why is this happening?

Thanks for any help.

I've no idea why it would interfere with IE, but DS does take a little while to close. if it's taking a long time, though, it may be getting hung on clearing the Temp folder - go to edit>Preferences>Directories and note the current location of the folder, check that it's empty; if it is, or if emptying it doesn't help, try changing the location; if that still doesn't help, make a bug report.

I would check that and empty it if I could find it.  LOL    Where is this located?

Thanks for the help.

You need to turn the display of hidden files and folders on - in the start menu search box type "Folder" and then click the Folder options entry under Control Panel, click the View tab, andset the Hidden files and folders option as shown.

Thank you so much,  I found the folder like you indicated.  It was empty at this time.  Next time IE locks up I will check this folder again.

Thanks again.
