Hi there

I am cleaning up my computer and I found a couple of strange extensions
I typed in search .ds and about 22000 came up
Now I deleted them cause I don't use daz3
By searching even more I found

-geometry.dso
-default.dsv
-uv.dsv

All I want to know is if these extensions are for daz 3 and I can savely delete them
I use daz2.3 and very happy with the program

Uh, all your .ds files were for D|S2.  Those are the MAT files specifically for Daz.  .dsa is D|S3.

Your geometry.dso files are for your saved .daz files.  If you delete them, you won't be able to open your saved scenes.

The others, I don't know, but I would venture to guess they are as important as the ones you've already deleted.

.ds = DAZ Studio 1/2 plaintext script file (can usually be used in DS3)
.dsa = DAZ Studio 3 plaintext script file (not usable in DS1/2)
.dsb - DAZ Studio binary script file, in DS1/2 may be encrypted (not usable in a DS version older than that it was saved from).
.dsb = DAZ Studio 3 encrypted script file
.dso = DAZ Studio geometry mesh file. If it's in data3_0somefolder then it's a DS3 file and won't be usable in DS2, if it's in datasomefolder it will be the Ds1/2 version
.dsv = DAZ Studio geometry UV file, same rules as for .dso
.dsd = DAZ Studio morph deltas (the way the shape changes when the morph is applied), same rules as for .dso
.dsx = DAZ Studio XML file, all kinds of settings and properties, may be for DS1/2, DS3 or both but probably made locally so assume it's for your version.

I remember..once in 1996..my brother only wanted to use his new computer for games..so he decided to get rid of the useless things to make more room and speed up the pc......so.....he deleted the windows folder.   no kidding..he deleted it and then couldn't figure out what was wrong....we still laugh at that one every time we see him using his  computer.
