Subject: Advice please! DH yard background issue

perpetuavelouria ( ) posted Sat, 25 September 2010 at 2:48 PM · edited Wed, 23 October 2024 at 1:59 PM

OK - so I want to put my two favourite nubile starlets out by the pool, frolicking, etc... But all my 'usual' backgrounds (Cyclorama, etc) are no good, because Dream Home Yard is located well away from the usual posing area. so far, in fact that its beyond the cyclorama.
How can I get a good background effect? Replacing the grey with a picture is all well and good, but its difficult to get one the right size and scale for realism.
Any Ideas?

Can you use a different camera and post a render of what you are talking about?  I am not in Poser, but I think the AUX camera will give you a distant view of your whole setup.

Here is what I mean.  This is Mapps's Haunted House shown using the AUX camera, and zoomed out to a distance.

This view allows you to see what is going on with the whole scene.

You can select the "Body" of cyclorama and move it any where you want.  You can use another perspective type camera to get orientation (aux or dolly, not front or right)

You can move the dream home too. You're weirding me out with this question.

Is it somehow mysterious - moving things in a posing program?

I'm not understanding the question.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Ha ha - sorry!
No I know I could move the whole scen, but I thought there might be a simpler alternative.

There is a script somewhere that will zero the Dream House Rooms.  I am not certain if it can be found here ar Rendo or DAZ.

I love using the Dream House but its so large the default positions are way off centre. If you zero position a room and rotate it then the axis of rotation is a mile off.

I got around this by bringing in a simple figure at zero, parenting the room to the figure then move the room to zero. Hide the simple figure. If you rotate the simple figure then the room stays at zero.

You can save the room pose for future use (apply after parenting). If you need two or three rooms then parent them togther first before parenting the main room to the simple figure.

I think the OP wants another background than Cyclorama? Something that covers the WHOLE background, which Cyclorama cannot do. So I would suggest to use BB's environmentsphere (see Bagginsbill signature for free stuff on his page) and put in a equirectangular image which you can find for free at Flicker and elsewhere. So you don't have to move anything in your scene.
