 HI

Why does Daz download chose to set up a Runtime on my Mac hard drive and refuses to set the download into my Poser 8 Library?

Also now the Runtime Folder is on my Hard Drive how do  I access it from my Library in Poser8 ?

If you do decide to reply to this old feller could you keep it simple , the one brain cell is wearing out!

The tut's are for Windows, I have tried to find out on my lonesome with no success.

Thank You

Online Now!

Maybe you should count yourself lucky that is prefers this arrangement.  In MACs, overwriting a files means completely replacing the old with the new.  unlike PC's where existing files are replaced, and new files are added.  I would recommend manually moving the DAZ files to their new location until someone can suggest a better alternate solution.  If you decide to work off the HD, then you would need to link the runtime to your Poser 8.

There is a conversion at http://www.3dmenagerie.com/  for making the lion that should have come with Poser as part of the legacy content into a tiger. It's in the Goodies - 3d - Poser section.

You will need to use UVMapper available at http://www.uvmapper.com/

The lion's geometry file might  be an OBZ file and will need to be an OBJ but you can be uncompress with the uncompressPoserFile script which might be under Scripts - Utilities,

The DAZ installers themselves will correctly merge new files into an existing Poser Runtime without replacing any folders already there. In other words, the DAZ installers will not delete any existing content in your target library.

It's only if you move a folder in Finder (the Mac equivalent of Windows Explorer) that it will replace an existing folder of the same name (and all its contents). Like Explorer, it prompts you before doing this, but unlike Explorer there is no option to merge folder contents.

There is a point during the DAZ install where you can select the target location for the new files. In the older style DAZ installer for Mac it's easy to miss this option, and it will just use the default location. When specifying the target location, choose the parent folder of the Runtime folder you want the product to go into. This folder name will be the name of the Library as seen within Poser.
