Subject: nudity in thumbs

Richardphotos ( ) posted Thu, 28 October 2010 at 5:56 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 5:45 AM

is the daz gallery excluded from the rule of no nudity in thumbnails?

No.

(Note: If you upload a image that contains nudity do not forget to upload a proper thumbnail. The image will show in all it's glory and you will get a nice e-mail explaining that your image has been removed until you provide said thumbnail.):blushing:

And you can't mention the word 'nudity' in the thumbnail if you make your own.  Yes, I got the 'nice' email and had to submit a new thumb, or use their advisory thumb.

From FAQ section

"If you remove my thumbnail with nudity/violence in it, will I lose my comments and rankings?  Last modified 2007-01-06 22:18
Response:

No, we place your image into the Holding area until you supply us with a new thumbnail. We then replace your image in the gallery and any comments, rankings and views remain with it.  If you do not supply us with a new thumbnail with no nudity/violence in it within the 48 hour timeframe, the image will then be permanently removed."

Images that run around in my head eventually end up in my gallery.

As a coordinator...  I can say that the thumbnail rule has changed a little bit...  if "nudity"  as it violates the TOS..  is found in your thumbnail the staff may replace it with the genetic advisory tag.. and you just have to re-upload a new one..  It is easier on us all...  If you see a thumbnail with TOS broken...  it means it has not been caught..  you can do the artist a favor and let them know...

When the attitude for nudity in America changes the TOS will change also..  Meantime we have to comply...  It is not so bad...

TOS

Thumbnails for all areas of the site may not display nude female breasts, male or female genitals or buttocks, or graphically violent images.

No nudity in thumbnails. This means no clothes, clothes that are transparent or blurring of nude images.
No areola or nipple exposure, and no transparent fabric.
No exposed buttocks – more exposure than a standard bikini bottom would constitute nudity.
No exposed male or female genitals  or pubic hair
No Sexually Suggestive Language
No "Censored" language/images (some examples: "Warning: Nudity Inside" or black bars covering breasts/genitals)

No depictions of injury being caused to any living creature. This includes, but is not limited to, injury from either piercing or edged weapons/tools, projectiles, fire/chemical burns, blunt force trauma, punching, kicking, slapping, strangulation or crushing. This also includes accidents and self-harm.
Weapons may be shown providing a) they do not have blood on them, and b) the injured victim is not visible.
Images of minor bruising, burns or bloody wounds that have already occurred are acceptable..

Thank you all for reading...

Some of my 'error thumbs' had been up for many weeks, it just took them some time to notice.  I should had paid more attention to the TOS.  It was my fault. :)

Hmm . . . Do you mean one of mine?

Lol... are we starting to feel guilty?

I had a look and could not see anything there now, so it must have been removed or fixed. Thumbnails should either be the standard image supplied by this forum, or you can use your own so long as they themselves do not contain any nudity (including the wording) as I myself have (in the past) made the same mistake.

I will feel shame and guilt as soon as I finished my next nude art piece.  😉
