Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 24 11:54 pm)
Well generally speaking your bone structure should have one bone past the last one seen, so if lShldr is your last outfit body part you should really have the lForeArm bone there in the rig.
Now is that what is causing your problems? I don't know. Just generally speaking that is how rigs are/should be created.
Comitted to excellence through art.
What name shows for that bone in the Joint Editor pallete ?
As you can't find the problem polygons in Poser, you'll need to use a modelling program to try and find them, or by inspecting the OBJ file.
I suspect that what you really need is another set of experienced eyes on the item, so you'll need to consider finding a volunteer to look over it for you.
The bones one past the clothing is to ensure that the bending of that part is properly passed to the clothing. Like movement in the hip when the thigh moves.
Does the figure have a COLLAR part ?
You can open the obj in wordpad (or other editor) and check that there are no faces before a group line (starts with g )
vt 0.94953 0.85115
vt 0.94833 0.85104
g Group128
usemtl skin
f 2/1 5/2 4/3 1/4
f 12/5 69761/6 69764/7 69760/8
the g line is the groupname , there should be one at the start of the f (face) section

Back with another question.OK I have checked, rechecked, and triple checked that my figure has ALL the polygons grouped, and that those groups match exactly the names of the bones they attach to. I deleted all the bones I didn't need, (tried leaving all the bones from the base figure...didn't work either) except for that pesky genital? bone. Which leads me to my first question. Just what friggin bone is this? I cant select it, move it or delete it, and when I leave the setup room it becomes part of my figure.
When leaving the setup room, I still get the message that some of my polygons are not grouped, however as stated I have checked this, I even used the "show non-grouped faces" in the grouping tool and it finds nothing.
The figure has lshoulder, rshoulder, chest, abdomen, and hip, which match exactly to the bone structure. I've read every tutorial I can find and watched videos on you tube till I'm crosseyed, and I'm only slightly less confused than before. Thanks for any help.
