Subject: Vue 8.5 crash

fleshoff ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2010 at 4:41 PM · edited Sat, 28 December 2024 at 12:23 AM

Win7, Vue 8.5 standalone...I have a very complex scene with multiple animations. If I try to render it out in anything but 25 fps the animation render crashes. Doesn't matter resolution...any ideas?

Frame grab:

Crashes on first frame?  After first frame?  Crashes during first second of animation if frame rendered is > 25?

Crashes as soon as I hit render if not set at 25 fps. If I have it set at 25 fps it never crashes and renders fine.

*and this only happens with this particular animation.

Are you rendering to an image sequence or to some movie format ?

avi uncompressed. It usually works fine.

In that case can you render the problem frame as a single image without problems ?

well there is no problem frame because it crashes as soon as I hit "render animation". I probably could render them out to single images but now that I'm 24 hours into a 100 hour render I hate to start over...I guess I'll see what happens.

I should probably be rendering out to image sequences anyways...I'm new to 3D and especially Vue (had it for about a week now) and I didn't know Vue had that option :(

I decided to kill the render and start over with image sequence...same issue... crashes immeadiatly when I try 24fps but not 25fps. So I'm rendering it out as an image sequence at 25 but at least now I can check on every frame and kill it if something is amiss.

Still perplexed by the 25fps issue, but may have something to do with the Poser animations I'm bringing in...I'll have to check and see if there is some issue with what frame rate Poser animations are created in.
