Subject: Star Trek hair props and morph targets?

Hey guys. I like to do Trek figures, as illustrations for an RPG campaign I'm doing (Roleplay, Trek, and 3D modeling... the geek hat trick!) Anyay, I've managed to make a passable Vulcan using a pointed ear morph, but she doesn't have the "Moe" bowlcut hairdo that Vulcans and Romulans seem to love. That got me to looking for one, and I can't seem to find hair that looks right, or at least hair for the default P4 female model that can be morphed to look right. I'm also looking for tons of morph targets (klingon forehead, Bajoran nose, Cardassian cranial ridges, etc). My question is, does anyone know where I could find such things, preferably free (but I'd probably pay a few dollars for something decent, especially if it weren't specific character dependent). Thanks in advance. =) D

I've seen Trek characters on many sites, plus clothes, phasers, starship models - & a really nice starship Bridge interior prop in renderocity's marketplace (to buy) But the largest & most comprehensive selection I've seen is at www.3dposer.com - great stuff! - & free to boot! (dont forget to give credit to the creators for any you use:) ) for the romulan hairstyle - you might try trans mapping an existing dtyle. or paint a texture map+bmp map & apply to a bald head. (just a suggestion) - If you find or make any new stuff, perhaps you could post links to it here for others. Good luck with your search!

Thanks for the reply. =) I've already well pillaged 3dposer.com =) Their tricorder is superb, in my opinion. Ah well, hopefully I'll be able to find something that suffices. If I do, here it will be posted. D

You might take a look at the hair on Anakin Skywalker by John Malis. IIRC, it had a kinda "Moe" look to it. You might also want to look at the bangs on John's "Conan" figure. It is Greg Crowfoot's bangs model that I had remapped & modified and put up at my site some time ago. John Malis: http://www.3dcc.com/posergamers/downloadsmyth1.htm My site with the Bangs5 hair model: http://worldzone.net/art/nance/index.html Hopefully you've found tommy's site with the Voyger props: http://www.dtemachine.com/dl_voyager2.asp And the excellent (& free) interior sets by WarriorDL, Keoto & SixPackWolf are at WarriorDL's other site in the Guest Download section: http://www.3dgladiators.com/warrior/

hm, I was messing around with making a vulcan hair prop a while ago...lemme see if I can find it on my hard drive. In the meantime, some of kozaburo's hair might work.
