Subject: Problem with Dynamic cloths

martial ( ) posted Fri, 31 December 2010 at 1:43 PM · edited Thu, 13 February 2025 at 1:03 AM

Bonjour

I have posted about this problem to Daz forum but still waiting for a solution ,hoping someone here have encounter the same situation and have found something to solve it

I am using Daz Studio last version ( 32 and 64 bits) and also last version
of dynamic control plug in (inside Daz studio 32 bits )
I have downloaded all  freebies from Optitex and bought some product from DAz for
dynamic clothing
Also using Poser 2010 pro, i can compare the Daz Studio  dynamic clothing with the one produced by Poser
And find that the one from Daz Studio  are better  I have no difficulty to use it (drape ok)
The problem is when i save the figure with dynamic clothes on the figure
.Sometime i can quit Daz studio  and can reload the figure with cloth
without problem Sometime ,more often , when it reload it finish with this
error message : '' An error occured while reading file See the log file for
more details ''
Example :i just install a  new freebie from Optitex :cargo pant for M4 .I installed it
exactly at the same folder (D:Daz studio 32 bitscontent) where i have
installed all others products using the exe install . I drape the cloth with success and save the figure with cloth .I quit DAz studio , and try to open the file saved and oup error message

Why i can save and open again some  and it is possible to save others but impossible open them after ? i have installed the initial file with the same target folde r ?? I don't know
I have read the log file and not really understand what happens

Some suggestion please
Thanks

It does the same to me sometimes so I don't think its just something yu are doing wrong.

Maybe someone will come in who knows what it is.

I'm sure you've already considered doing this... there is a technical Nuts And Bolts part to the Daz forum which might get you a quicker response than here. Might

Which version of DS is this? 3.1.2.73 had problems with dynamics. Is there any more information in the log file (Help>View log just after a load attempt, scroll down to the end)?

This is  the newest version.  3.1.2.24

I think Richard must have meant 3.1.1.73....or ??

I thought there was a 2 in the number, but I lose track. But 3.1.2.24 is the latest build certainly.

Hope Daz will find a solution to this problem because Optitex just put two new freebies to his site for Daz dynamic clothing since last time i went there  Today is tank dress for Victoria

"I drape the cloth with success and save the figure with cloth .I quit DAz studio , and try to open the file saved and oup error message"

Is there other stuff in the scene as well? I've had that happen with one piece of dynamic clothing but only when I was saving the reby hair in the same scene. In other situations I saved the skirt fine and reused the scene multiple times.

The first try was only with basic victoria 4 from Daz people from content folder and dynamic clothes .Save and cannot reload without the error message

After i have also tried with V4 with hair and texture from Poser scene :some works, some don't with dynamic clothes

Normally ,in DAz studio .we could compose scene with multiple figures ,save and reopen after.Without dynamic cloths everything seems ok

I cannot continue to  use a soft if i cannot knowing if the scene couldn't be reload after

I was having the same problem, but when I posted at Daz, they told me to update Daz Studio.  When I updated to 3.1.2.24, they error went away.

martial ( ) posted Thu, 20 January 2011 at 10:45 AM

I have version 3.1.2.24 installed

Anyway thanks for your comment

Here is the DAz reply when i ask for support :

  •  '' Hi Martial,

It could be because you do not have Daz Studio 3 installed to your C Drive or it could be happening because you have multiple copies of some of your content installed to more then one location. If you have Michael 4 installed in more then one place it can cause all sorts of strange loading issues like this. You could also be experiencing this because some of the shaders and plugins look to the default directory on the C drive when loading a scene file.

I would recommend taking a look at the content installation and management videos located here: https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/home to see how you should have your content installed and setup. The recommended setup would be to have your Daz Studio installed on your C drive and all of your content should be installed to the same location so you only have one content folder and one Studio folder in your content tab. ''

And my reply to this :

  • Hello
I appreciate that you have answering to my request
I have reduced au minimum the number of folderswhere content for DAZstudio are .I have groupes all file for Victoria4 or environment etc Stiil error message I have indicate to DAZ Studio where are all my files in preferences
NOTE that ,exception for the dynamic clothing, i didn't have problem to open others daz studio scenes if these not contain dyn cloth
(excuse my bad english ,I am a french speaking person)

I have many graphics softs in my computer (Daz studio 3 pro (64 bits and 32 bits because clothing dynamic plugin),Poser 2010 (using Poser from version 1) Vue d'esprit infinite 9,Silo 2,Rhino 4,Carrara 8 pro,Bryce 7,Photoshop CS5,Corel suite,Lightroom 3,etc) and i never installed these programs on c because i want to keep my C(with Windows 7 64 bits installed) as small as possible for making backupof my system more easily I never have problem before with programs located in D,E,F or G (i have 3 internal hard drives)

It seems funny to notice that the only program which ask me to specify the directories where i put my data (in preferences for DAz Studio ) it the only one which cannot find it when i open a saved scene but find it when i construct the scene the first time

So i don't want to change my way to install soft and prefer to stop using DAZ Studio and continue to use Poser
until a new version of DAZ correct this bug according to me I have seen in Renderosity that i am not the only one with this problem and this problem is not general but only with file with dynamic cloth

Sorry about it because the cloth fit nice on figures

  • And last week end i have bought Marvelous designer (personnal edition at 99$)
