Hi guys... been working on a critter for poser..and hes posable. I wanted to show him off a bit. He exhibits a new "hair" techique that Im working on. The render is not touched up at all. Im still perfecting various details about it, but will soon make real hair in poser and bryce. Itd be nice to have a dog, cat, etc..with real hair instead of touched up hair. comments? BT

very cool!! are you gonna put a tut on your site for the hair? I guess that bottom one would be batman? I know bad joke :)

damm! fast reply! lol I just hit enter and you already had replied..to both! Im making the basics of the hair techique..and it will be on posertech.com not brycetech.com when I get it all set up. This is totally unexplored territory within poser..so its got to be pushed a bit to see how it holds up. Then I tell how to do it. I will probably do real hair for the cat and the dog that comes with poser...just to illustrate the power of this hair...but like I said, I have to perfect the technique. The conforming hair model above is <5000 poly. So I can make it 3x as good without being any kind of problem. I will probably do the cat's hair next just for a test. (the daz bear would rock with this hair!) BT

That is very cool! Hair and fur are so tricky in 3D unless you have some expensive plugins. Looking forward to your tutorial on this one.

very nice!the hair looks great!

brycetech ( ) posted Tue, 14 August 2001 at 4:29 PM

yeah, the model..the conforming hair, all textures and ???(not sure what else) will be part of a $20 pack. any suggestions of what would go with a bat? (characterwise) I may do a polygonal conf hair model too because at some angles the hair doesnt show as well as it should. suggestions? BT

When you do the hair in poser, will it be exportable if you want to do the render in Bryce?

brycetech ( ) posted Wed, 15 August 2001 at 9:36 PM

yeah...the hair works great in Bryce. the renders above are both bryce renders. Bryce LOVES this hair. Its better in Bryce than poser ever thought of. But, that could be because I dont have a good grip on the transparency settings in poser. :) BT
