Hi MNArtist,
No these are almost all of the purchased plants that I have ourchased and even some of the trees that come with Vue. For example, if I load the Montzuma Cypress and increase the resolution, the entire shape of the tree changes (e.g. it gets much larger, the diameter changes dramatically etc).
Hi bruno021,
For me it seems to be consistent with the all purchased tree species that I have that modify native Vue trees and also wiith some of the native trees as well. As I mentioned above, it has happened every time I have increased the reolution on the Montezuma Cypress. As far as the scene file, it even happens in the default scene. How do I record a video capture to send to e-on?
Here is a test to see if you get the same result that I do.
Load the Montezuma Cypress and open the plant editor.
Increase the resolution and click okay to exit the plant editor.
The tree will have changed shape and the trunk will be thicker.
Load a new Montezuma Cypress and open the plant editor.
Decrease the trunk diameter to -62 and click okay to exit the editor.
The tree will now have a thin trunk.
Open the plant editor and increase the resolution on the thin trunked Montezuma Cypress. Click on okay to exit the plant editor.
The tree will have a thick trunk and look similar to the result obtained at step #3. If you go back into the editor it will still say it has a trunk diameter of -62 but it will have no apparent effect on the tree.
Wow, indeed, does exactly as you say. Well, no need for a video then, this pattern is repeatable, and the info you provided is enough I suppose for e-on to acknowledge the problem. And to add to the mystery, the scale change after refining the plant is not applied in the plant editor, just in the viewports. I tried to refine an Eucalyptus tree, and it completely changed shape!

Hello,
I am using Vue 9 Infinite latest build and I have a question regarding the use of the plant editor. Whenever I increase the resolution of a tree species that has been derived or modified from another tree species, all of the customizations that have been done to it are lost when I click on okay and exit the plant editor. Is this normal? It is very frustrating when you are using purchased content, or even some of the derived trees that come with Vue, and you want to use them in the foreground and suddenly they no longer look like the tree that they were intended to be.
I am curious to know if this is specific to my system, or if it is a bug that is common to others. And if it is a bug, does anyone know how to get around it?
Also, does anyone know why the birch trees that come with Vue have maple leaves and not birch leaves?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
