Subject: Where is Poser Materials content in Daz Studio

jquin3 ( ) posted Wed, 16 March 2011 at 9:42 PM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 10:45 PM

Hi, I have been a poser user for quite some time and recently I have been trying Daz Studio for a change. For the most part, I am impressed with the software. Some things I still have trouble with but its mainly due to the fact that I'm still trying to learn the features of this software. I linked my Poser content to Daz Studio and I can access all from Figures to Lights but I can't seem to locate where my Material content is. The Surfaces tab doesn't have them. Can anybody help?

well sorry to say that you wont find your poser materials if they are shader tree or other poser materials in DAZ.  daz has it's own shader/paked shader thing that doesn't recognize poser materials.

your best bet is your poser textures or daz textures. since daz uses mainly jpg, png, tiff images for it's textures ( tiff seem to take forever for it though so you know),

D|S doesn't see the Materials library.  You'll need to convert the .mt5/.mc6 files to .pz2 files (change line 6 to figure and change the extension to .pz2) and move them to the Pose library (or any other library except Materials).
