Subject: Poser 3 to Poser 4 figure and geometry file

I have copied over a P3 character file into a P4 directory, along with the character's geometry file. Both are in the same "relative" position within the P3/P4 directories. However, whenever I load the figure, P4 complains that it can't load the geometry file, and gives the filename. I have checked the "figureresfile" parameter in the character's .CR2 file, and it's OK. The geometry .OBJ file exists where it is supposed to. Why do I get this error, and how do I correct it?

I'm not sure I understand what you did. Which figure is this? If it was just a Poser3 figure with custom props, all you needed was the CR2 not the OBJ. More details please. -JH.

I have a figure named X.cr2, that I have placed in a new figures directory. This figure had a custom geometry in Poser 3, so I created a new directory named "RuntimeGeometriesnew". I then took the X.obj geometry file from Poser 3 and placed it in this directory. When I load the figure in Poser 4, it complains that it can't find the geometry file "RuntimeGeometriesnewX.obj" It appears that for some reason, it is not "relative" pathing this new file, even though all other standard Poser 4 .cr2 figure files have a similar setup for their geometries.

The files and directories are case sensitive. Make sure the spelling and case match exactly. -JH.

The obj file appears twice in the cr2. Did you fix both instances?

If the CR2 worked in P3, it shouldn't need any editing to work in P4 also. -JH.
