Subject: Unable to save poses in DAZ

Stevenb3D ( ) posted Fri, 08 April 2011 at 10:06 PM · edited Sat, 10 August 2024 at 7:05 AM

I just started playing with DAZ 3D and I runing into a problem. I am unable to store poses.

I load Victoria 4 and created a pose. I try to save the pose into a Pose folder by opening  the folder and selecting Victory, I go to click the “+” sign at the bottom of the folder but its gray out. I’m sure I am missing something obvious but I’m drawing a blank.

I’m using DAZ 3D version 3.1.1.73 Advance Edition 32 bit. Any help you can give me would greatly be appreciated.

There are two kinds of content, Poser format and native format. The files with the library types, which contain the Victoria 4 figure, are Poser format and DAZ Studio doesn't save that (directly - there's a free script in the DAZ store, Poser Format exporter, that will save poses of all types and that may be all you need). The + button will be active when you are in a DAZ Studio format content folder - one of the folders with a stylised S on its icon. As I said, for poses there's little reason not to use the Poser Format exporter script (the main draw back is that if you hold down the ctrl(Win)/cmd(Mac) key when applying a native preset you will get an option dialogue which increases flexibility) but you will want to use the native format for things like lights and cameras, and for anything that includes material settings.

Thanks! That is just what I needed.
