Okay, so I made a character for Poser a while back that I'm going to sell here at Rendo... so today I took the spare time I had to make a "DAZ" version that would look nice in DAZ, eg: shaders. So I actually managed for the first time in my history of using DAZStudio to create a very nice suteable shader for human skin! I rendered it a couple times and it look apsolutely gorgeous!

But then I changed the lights to a better set and fidgetted with the color and shadow softness... NOW V4 has a very weird white strip going down her chest, leg and partial arms... also a little one on her face! I don't know what it is, because I've double checked the skin texture to make sure it wasn't a mistake that I made, but the skin is perfect, no seams, no white strips in the actual texture... nothing. I'm stuck at a brick wall here... please help... (see photo)

Not sure, but you may want to check on the shaders; on certain light sets they set off shaders that have too high a gloss setting.   She almost looks like she has a light reflection like latex or rubber would in clothing...  Just an idea.

Oh, okay... Well the problem is I really don't know anything about DAZ shaders... I usually use Poser shaders, but I wanted to optimize this character to make it work for everyone who wanted it, whether they use Poser/Daz or even Carrara... The settings are pretty much from a tutorial, all I did was adjust it a bit... but I will try toning it down a bit, lol... thanks :)

yep that is caused by the skin being to glossy or highlight or reflective with the lights hitting it.

try looking at this small tut

Actually, that's the tutorial I read to come up with these results... I'm not sure why it would do this for me but not the person who made the tut?

It looks like its caused by specular setting whether in the skin or the lights I don't know. If the character rendered nicely with other lights, then I would look at the light settings as well as your shader setings. It might just be the angle of the light.

What lights did you use.

I just modified the lights from the tutorial "Fiery Victoria" that comes with DAZStudio 3 (free version)... I already tried changing the actual light settings and moving them around and so forth... I haven't gotten around to changing the material settings yet though, I've been sick with the flu... good day
