Howdy Cool

I need some expert advice here...

I need to completely uninstall Daz Studio from my pc...because i want a completely fresh new Studio without content or anything.
I have tried uninstalling with the BitRock uninstaller...but when i reinstall Studio again with the same installer...i get Daz again installed...but still with a bunch of old content in it...which does not even work either!... Shocked

The thing is that Daz has to be completely removed from its core...e.g....THE REGISTRY Rolling Eyes

any advice on how to do this...without screwing up everything else?...(after all we are talking abaut the registry)

I have Windows 7 Home Premium.

I know that this problem can easily be solved by a fresh windows install...but that is a bit drastic...dont you think?... Confused

Thanks for viewing.

After you use the uninstaller go to the DAZ folder and manually delete the content that is always left behind...  Also. look in your Documents folder for more content..

After doing all the above  hit the Search button..enter Daz  and this will show up any items of daz that may have got missed...as in windows prefetch etc.

Good luck.

DS is quite an invasive program, not only does it install things to atleast 3 places on your system, but it also adds quite a bit of info to the registry.

@ Sheedee, I suspect that it's the content directories that are your problem, the directories don't exist any more but DS is still listing them. The safest & easiest way to remove them is to start up DS and go "Edit > Preferences" (or press F2), select the Directories tab and remove all of the pathways listed for each of the 3 formats DS caters for, click apply & then accept buttons once your finished and then close DS. This will cause DS to update the registry and remove the pathways from it, however DS3 doesn't like not having any directories listed, so don't be to surprised if you find the default (My)Documents directories listed when you next start DS.
