I've been trying to locate an Arc of the Covenant golden chest like the one in the Raiders of the Lost Arc movie. Anyone have any clues where I might find a 3d model of it?

Anyways, here's the last render, I made it big so you can see the details better.

Question tho, would you guys prefer the high res or med res textures? It's either 2048(16mb TGA's) or 1024(4mb TGA's) for the bump maps. Difference is quite a bit of clarity and definition, but it's what you guys want.

BTW, the pic here was rendered with the 1024 textures.

That 1024 looks pretty good.  It will keep the file weight down a bit.

Ok, what "I" mean by baked is, the textures and bump maps are in the mtl file, so when you import the obj, all the textures are there already.

You may have to mess with specularity and reflection tho.

And what I did was import the images into Wings (my modeling software), and assigned them to the appropriate material zone.

I hope this clears it up for you.

I can't ever get .mtl's to work, I usually delete them off the bat, lol...

But you've sparked my curiosity into using them just for that purpose, no need for applying anything...

But... how do I find it. What do I search on to locate it in my library? Installed, but searching on rooster, arc, covenenant does not bring it up.

Well, I can supply you with a bookless model, then we can work on finding you a pose for V4, a robe, and some wings, and voila'! We have angels!

It's not made into a Poser prop, it's in raw .obj form.

To use it, you just have to: Import > Wavefront OBJ, from Poser's File menu, then direct it to wherever you extracted the files.

does it come with an electric fence power supply? what voltage?

And, my very 1st comment on Arc #2 is:

Well, it's not even in the Poser Prop Catagory, it's listed under OBJ's, so that person's comment in just rude. But if that's the attitude I'm going to get, I'll just stop uploading stuff.

I do hope that some mod here will remove that comment from my freebie, as it's not even relevant, and besides, it's not my fault said member is an idiot and doesn't know how to import OBJ's. That's NOT an expert Poser ability, it's friggin Poser BASICS!!!

P.S. I did a search for that member's name and came up with 0 results. So either it's a ghost, or I don't know what.....

And yes, it's not in the Poser library, you have to Import the OBJ, and it should load with bump maps and texture intact. You may still have to play around with the gold and add specularity and reflection tho.

Is there a way the wings can be made so that they look less like a bird ready to pounce? :) If you see the Raider's Arc you'll see the wings are more vertical going straight out, than horizontal. Picky I know and if you can't do it, that's fine. Thought I'd go for perfection. :)

I really like the version with the angels. They sheilded the Mercy Seat, which represented the presence of God. The blood of the sacrifice was sprinkled on the Mercy Seat on the Day of atonement.

Seeing that the Arc of the Covenant was lost with the distruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians, no one knows what it looked like, so all recreations are the artists interpretation of discriptions.

Raiders of the Lost Ark got it wrong though. If you've ever read the bible they're described in the manner that BR has displayed.

Yes, I admit to being a begger, lkendall, and of course BionicRooster can just tell me to 'bug off'. But I too very much appreciate his work. It is far from what I could do right now and so I am very grateful for him doing this.

As far as what the Arc looked like, I don't know either. I just like the Raider's of the Lost Arc version best of all I've seen. And, in my story, maybe the Arc isn't lost after all...

Yes, Michaelab, you merely import it by going to the File Menu... File > Import > Wavefrong OB... You set it up in a scene, check out the texture in the Material Room, adjust to your liking etc. and render out the whole scene.

BR: your stuff is wonderful and there are all sorts of people here at Renderosity.  All levels of expertise and unfortunately all levels of manners.  Please don't let one rude, immature person discourage your wonderful gifts and creativity.
