Hi, i have poser 8, but i don't know how to use it, i need to make a video and i don't have clothes at the library and i can't downloaded it. The problem is that i don't have time to learn and this video is very important, i'm student, it is for a very important work for my college.

I need URGENT a kind person who wants to help me with that!! honestly that is very important for me..pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Have you already storyboarded it out and know how many minutes to run?

I don't know where you are at geographically, but it is rather late in the US and the start of a 3 day holiday weekend.  There will probably not be as many people around as usual.

I'd just go with, "My dog ate my homework". That is usually good for a weeks extension. Unless you have already used that excuse.

We will be able to help better if you frame your question in more detail.

I'm sorry to say that Poser has a rather steep learning curve, and I doubt very much that you will learn enough in a day to do a video.

Is this a homework project? Are you asking for someone to make the video for you?

I thinks this is a joker who wants a freebie movie to rip off as their own... not a real student.  You want someone to do your work, do it yourself. We'll help you with advice, tips and techniques. You do the work.

Being new?
A video of a few minutes will take you a few months to master Poser to an aceptable level.
Poser is a very good tool.
But is still is just that, a tool.
It is the artist that "knows" the tool inside-out, that can obtain a result.

Ok, my question is, why rely on a program you don't know, to do an evidently important assignment?

What class? If it's for any kind of computer or graphics classes, I see no benefit from anybody but you doing your work. If it's for an "off subject" that's not digital graphics or animation related, maybe look into another way of accomplishing your project.

If you have P8, how can you not download it?

If you can't download it, how can you state you have not clothes in the library?

Either you own a legit copy of P8 (commercial or edu license), you have d/l'd and installed and you are having library issues or you do not own it or have not taken the time or the trouble to d/l and install it.

If you are having library issues, most of us will be more than willing to help you solve them.

If you need info on how to do an animation, most of us will help with with whatever advice you need.

One thing few of us will do, is your work for you.  If you are a serious student, you need to learn how do the work.  Those of us who do animations have already done ours.

So back to it: do you actually have P8 and do you have it installed?

I highly recommend you pay a visit to the tut Dr. Geep has given you a link to.  All of his tutorials over the years and versions of Poser have been most educational and loads of fun.

We are not going to hear from this joker again. I'll bet he/she got some poor sucker doing the work that should have been done by the person him/her self. Once again, we've been had.

There is a manual for Poser 8, it should be available off the help menu in Poser. I suggest read it for the starting sections on how to load stuff from the libraries. 

Animation in Poser is fairly basic keyframe animation, without the extras that more complex apps supply. It takes a while to learn though.

More detail on what your project is would be a big help. How long the animation is, how many figures, what actions they need to take all would give an idea on how to proceed. And when you need to have it done.

But IMVHO, he should ask for help, not ask for someone to 'do his homework' for him. Can't learn anything that way.

Well, i want to explain that i made my final project, but i want to make a video with  a proposal for my project, and of course a video will be an excelent tool for accompany my project, i really want to show it.

If anybody wants to help me, send me an email to shadowsinddarkness@gmail.com and i'm going to explain everything with details, is not a complicate video, less of 1 minute.

I just need anybody who wants help me, becasue i don't know about poser 8.

I don't need comments with wrong opinions as i am not doing my work.

Why don't do you stick with something that you're familiar with and use that to do illustrations to accompany your proposal? Storyboard it. That's what I had to do when I was making my way through school.  Easier than trying to make a video using some software that you are not familiar with and one that has a steep learning curve.  

My former art teacher once  said to me: Use the familiar to show off your creativity.  Learn the impossible but display common sense.  (never could figure that one out til I got out of school and into the real world).

 I've noticed alotta hostility in this forum in the last few months, whether towards OT thread posters or newbies.  it's like the C&D or tavern, all over again.  beating up on the newbies is alot easier than helping them: since they're newbies, their requests are gonna look bogus at first, as they don't know the how to use the software, they haven't read the manual yet, and they don't know the jargon to ask detailed questions. 

however, somebody familiar with poser 8 animations will still a week or more to set up something for a school assignment, starting with the scenario/storyboard/plot, even if they're just using keyframes every 15 or 30 frames, rather than using bvh files, which is much quicker IMVHO.  if the user has several years experience in poser and bvh, it will still take time to add all the props (scene elements) and adjust the lighting.  if it's a school assignment, that may mean no porno, implying acquisition and fitting of clothing/hair props/items, unless robots or bald anthropoids are allowed.  sound track may be needed.  then the FFRender process, which may take an hour or more per frame, unless preview animations (lousy) are allowed.

hence to summarise, even if a very experienced user tries to do this, he/she would need at least a week AFAIK.  an inexperienced user would need an unknown amount of time.  at this point it becomes an issue of ethics, e.g. student to hiring somebody to do schoolwork.

Thank you Miss Nancy for clearing ALL that up, about the hostility shown and explaining in detail about the difficulty of even doing this "simple" task is quite a bit of work.

I think it wuold be a good idea for LoveDesign to layout all the details of what needs to be done and what elements are to be in the scene, and possibly a few people here could collaborate to cut the work load. I'd volunteer to make a few things if suitable models can't be found. (I have no real experience in animation, so I'd be about as useful as a screen door on a submarine in that area)

A weel to set up maybe, but a one minute animation at 30 fps is 1800 frames.

If you could render 1 per minute, it would take 30 hours of continous render time to complete.

Familiarity breeds contempt and there's a lot of that going on. For what it's worth, suggesting that a newbie actually crack open their manual isn't rude. It's rudimentary wisdom!

When you say "I have pub scenes", do you mean you have pub scene models already, or photos of pub scenes you'd like it to be modeled after? The latter being a TON more work.

Or, is it a scene you set up with freebies? It would have to be freebies, as you wouldn't be able to send anybody any purchased models you've used.

You can't send most freebies either unless it's allowed in the readme to redistribute, and it's usually not.

You dont need the actual props, just a good idea of the size relative to the figure.

I would stay with the Poser people and not V4, M4 etc because you can use the walk designer and a walk path to generate part of the animation.  Then use a static pose of a person sitting say 60 frames ahead of the end of the walk, and let Poser fill in the rest. It will be rubbish , but then you pick intermediate frames and keyframe more of the action until its smooth enough.

You can also use the walk designer to transition to the end pose, and use one of the bvh files from freestuff for the turn and sit.  A few small transitions to hide the rough spots, or simply some close up camera shots and you are done.

If you can avoid showing the feet its even easier. ;)

Wouldn't just be simpler to videotape two people walking into a pub? Why does it have to be animation?

I wasn't aware that it was alright to start blaming people of things before knowing more information??? Its not ok period.

Guys let people explain their problems before jumping in scolding them for their time managment skills.  I'm sure you wouldn't like coming in a forum and people getting an attitude with you over a question.
