Subject: Second Life Avatar

Cyndie ( ) posted Thu, 02 June 2011 at 7:34 PM · edited Tue, 22 October 2024 at 4:26 AM

Hi, total newbie here...

I just found out that second life is going mesh.  After some googling I ended up at Daz3d.

Has anyone been working on avatars for second life once it goes to mesh?

Any tips or insight?

Thank you in advance

=)

daz3d's hexagon program is already able to make meshes for use in second life.

Can you use Daz3d to make a secondlife avatar based on the downloadable people?

What about the hair and clothes you can buy on the Daz3d website?

Thank you.

no daz3d doesnot make people  or clothes , it is a render program, and all daz3d items are copyrighted , so you can not upload them to second life.....

the dowloadable people from second life can be re textured/ie painted with a 2d program..
(they have what is called a texture map, that you can paint.. i would recommend you look for info for second life creation, at the second life web site, as that is not what people here do or use daz3d for..........

you can make second life items with daz3d's hexagon modeler.....located here
